As a Arsenal fan, I hope Wenger signs Higuain yesterday cause I can see us scrambling to buy "B talent" if Real decides to keep him.

He has the potential to be Norwich's best striker he can finish with both feet, good size and is an incredible PK taker. No idea what his ball control is like though.

Well looks like all their targets are signing elsewhere, all Wenger's croissants seem to be in the Suarez basket.

God damn, Canaries landed my man Gary Hooper as well for but £5m. I would've loved to see him at Liverpool in the event Suarez departs.

If Liverpool can get Real interested (i.e. if Levy is successful in extending Bale), they should be able to get the requisite £50m from one of the two, obviously would prefer to see Luis in La Liga. I'd be fine with Sturridge/Coutinho/Aspas/Sterling/Borini/Alberto in 3-1 of Rodgers' de-facto 4-2-3-1, and they'll have enough time in the window to bring in a winger to make Downing strictly cover.

I assume he'll be in front of van Wolfswinkel and will be a possession man for the biggest but faster player, just as he was able to on occasion with Samaras at Celtic (though Lennon often put Georgios out wide until midway through last season). They'll be an excellent partnership IMO, definitely better than this past year's display by Holt.

Arsenal's £40,000,001 bid did not trigger any sort of release clause. They'll have to pay £50+m for Suarez, I think/hope he stays on Merseyside.

I think at this point it depends on Suarez, if he wants out you have to sell him. Keeping an unhappy player never works out especially in soccer when their heart isn't in the game. I would like Suarez to stay at Liverpool just for the sake of the PL, if he leaves and Liverpool don't buy well they are in serious trouble.

Liverpool have bid £21.8m for Diego Costa.

Costa, Suarez, and Aspas would the (literally) the craziest set of forwards possible alongside Sturridge/Coutinho.

Man Utd fail to get Herrera because of their misunderstandings of Spanish tax law and Coentrao because they couldn't finish the paper work in time. Apparently Fegurson was the only person in that organization that was remotely competent.

It's an incredible signing by Wenger. Ozil didn't lead the 5 major leagues in assists over the last three years for nothing.

United are very overrated, I doubt they win the league and they will get crushed in the CL. A lot of things went right for them to win the league last year.

Shocked by RM's moves, really, other than the PR of answering Neymar with Bale.

I'd rather Ozil than Bale straight up, nevermind the $50M shortfall. Think Ozil still has untapped upside and he fits perfectly at Arsenal. If they can land a top class speedy striker, this will be beautiful.

Ozil progressed a lot at Madrid, but nobody takes notice because he was playing at Madrid. Ozil was unappreciated and Madrid are going to miss him more then they realize.

Perez is unbelievably short-sighted to go through with that change, though a lot of it had to do with how Özil didn't fit into Ancelotti's 4-3-2-1 formation. He wants Isco at the center of the 3 between/just behind Ronaldo and Bale with Benzema up top.

If you ask me, Özil would have been better suited there, and to me it seems Isco was the flashy buy to counter Neymar. Once Ancelotti came aboard and instituted the Christmas tree, Isco and Özil could only play at that playmaker role in the center. When Özil was pushed out wide to the right he played terribly (understandably so) and was frustrated by Ancelotti. In the end, they ended up paying ~€80m for the privilege of having Isco as a (IMO clear) downgrade from Özil and adding a mightily overvalued Bale to the side. Arsenal are the real benefactors as they add arguably the best player currently in the Premiership.

In Liverpool news, thrilled that Touré's injury isn't as bad as initially thought, and adding Sakho and Ilori is going to be huge. Moses is a nice get on a loan as well instead of splashing huge coin on Turan.

All orchestrated by AW. Remember seeing a tweet yesterday that his sale of gervinho to Roma made lamela to tottenham possible, which made bale to madrid possible, which made ozil to arsenal possible.

I like Arsenal to win the Premiership. Everyone sees Mourinho as the odds on favorite, but with Wenger finally having adequate money to add true talent and not losing anyone significant (Gervinho was the biggest lost but even then you're talking about depth), and a competent defense... Really, really think it's their season barring a rash of significant injuries.

Chelsea has very suspect defending, I don't know what's going on with City, United are overall, Spurs have no chemistry and Arsenal are solid, but you could argue they aren't as talented as the others. I think the PL is more open then some realize.
