Is it really retro if we're not talking Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jake the Snake, Brutus the Barber Beefcake, or Hacksaw Jim Duggan?

I was around for the tail end of Jake the Snake's career. I was born in 88 so retro to me is Austin, Rock, etc.

Those four you named are absolutely legends of WWF however.

I remember watching that with my dad. He was convinced Hogan was going to come out and do it. Crush could have done it but he wasn't allowed.

I've read that Vince treats a lot of them like shit. They have to buy their own hotel and transportation and once you have a name, Vince owns it, even if you made it up yourself and he will sue the shit out of you if you tried to use it somewhere else. I guess that comes with signing a contract though.

Mick Foley would sleep over fans' house in each city they toured.

More than the falls I loved when Olympic Gold Medalist and World Wrestling Federation Hall of Famer Kurtanius Angle suplexed Shane through the glass King of the Ring set.

When you meet these guys do you ask them about other wrestlers and their opinions on them? I'm sure they have some they say are the strongest, fastest, etc.

Attitude Era Kane will always have my heart.

Mad Dog Vachon - RIP
:mkbét::lr: :lr:

OOOH yeah life goes on, long after the thrill of Vinny is gone

It's too bad all the people that could really run the Habs are busy doing talk radio, writing blogs or posting on message boards.

Now, Lajoie is an imbecile, a cretin and a plagiarist, who to use author Dany Laferrière's deliciously withering expression, "lives beyond his intellectual means."

...as serious as a poutine shortage in Chicoutimi during a curling bonspiel...

Haddock wrote:I wouldn't know anything about that. I gave my soul up when I swore allegiance to the goddamn queen.

When I'd spend time in Vermont as a teenager, we'd all watch Sunday mornig wrestling on Sherbrooke ch. 7. We could all do Mad Dog expressions, and everyone could imitate Edouard Carpentier doing commentary. The wrestling terms were the only French words the Vermont guys knew.

Mad Dog had the best story in A&E's Unreal Story of Wrestling about fooling Montreal cops into thinking their brawl was real.

I was a weird kid, my dad took me to a WWF event when I was a wee lad and the only matchup I remember from the event was Hercules vs. Junkyard Dog, and I was screaming at the top of my lungs rooting for Hercules.
