BREAKING NEWS: Roger Goodell May Resign Soon
by Sammy 7 mins ago0

The Wall Street Journal reports that the National Football League (NFL) is close to a deal with the NFL Players’ Association to force commissioner Roger Goodell to resign.

The deal isn’t yet complete, but could be very soon, according to sources.

There is also a possibility that the deal could fall apart at the last minute.

The commissioner has received criticism on a number of issues, but the players’ association is most upset about how the commissioners’ office has handled discipline of players.

Geez, I would've loved seeing the new Los Angeles Rams be quarterbacked by Case Keenum for a full season....

Tennessee gets: Rams' first-round pick (2016), two second-round picks (2016) third-round pick (2016), first-round pick (2017), third-round pick (2017).

Rams get: Titans' first-overall pick (2016), fourth-round pick (2016), sixth-round pick (2016).

Pretty sure this is karma for the Rams/Redskins trade in 2012 (Griffin III)

I guess the Rams are zeroed in on a QB that they were afraid would go #2 . I like it for the Titans. They can re-stock the franchise with that many early picks.

Apparently every team with this many of picks early in the draft has went to the super bowl in the next 5 years. So that's nice to go with our 5 straight Stanley Cup victories in Nashville.

Who was the running back that Ditka gave his entire draft for ? Williams ? Drawing a blank on his first name. From Texas. I could look it up but I'm too proud.

Guy had some sort of social anxiety disorder. Played a year in the CFL when he was suspended, I think for using weed. NFL is pretty funny.

No kidding, 6 picks in this year's top 76 elections and additional picks for next year... a lot of holes will be addressed quite fast.

we got a shit ton of them too. The entire secondary is garbage (especially FS/CB), the OL is dog shit despite drafting top 10 picks on a LT and RG, and our three 1st/early 2nd round WRs were so inept our leading receiver was a blocking TE.

Herschel Walker, why I oughta....

Ditka acquired Williams for New Orleans, I can't remember from who. That I'll look up. New Orleans seems to have spent a lot to get rb's high, them go to a by committee system.

Washington. Well Champ Bailey turned out alright.

I'm a big fan of Ricky Williams. The guy loved football but didn't love the NFL machine. I was reading something about the retired Steelers RB, Mendenhall and how as scouts sensed that he had interests, life interests, their interest waned. Tell a GM that you like to read, watch how you go from the early 2nd to the late 4th.

I guess if you're sold on a QB and your franchise has to have a QB, it makes sense. I don't know but I assume the Rams have been drafting talent, they've been lousy for a while, maybe it's time for a move like this. You know how it works though, the QB works out, great move, bold GM. It doesn't, well he's a fucking idiot.

They must be hella sold on one of Wentz/Goff for sure. I mean, the last example we had of such a trade (and it wasn't for the first overall) was the Griffin trade and we all saw what happened. The chances of such a move backfiring badly are a lot higher than this being a sure pick.

Anyways, can totally understand why they did it: the move to LA, the fact that Case Keenum would've been the QB of that team, putting all the pressure on Gurley to be the savior of this new franchise, etc. But I'm under the impression it won't give them the results they're looking for.

Then again, I'd love to see PF77 opinion on that as he is following college/university football and must have a better grasp of Wentz' and Goff's worth that I'll ever do.

Neither of these dudes are on par with Luck, maybe, maybe RG3. But Wentz played dogshit competition. Goff was out of the air raid which had been a tough transition to NFL for most college kids. Good arm and all that jazz but neither of them played a legit NFL offense the way Luck did at Stanford. I'd argue neither are on par with Winston/Mariota either. But really depends on the offense you want more than anything. Goff more polished less upside and Wentz less polished but more potential. Goff probably tops out is a better Flacco/stafford maybe mettenberger as a floor? Wentz could completely wash out but could be a poor mans Luck?

Pretty sure most team would want such a talent on their squad, but most won't be able to fit him under the cap.

Any chance the Panthers still try to resign Norman? I know they could, but given Gettleman's statement on the matter, I don't think he's even considering it...

Although I like things that hurt the Pats, and I've joked about it before, this is ridiculous at this point. I thought this shit was done. If Goodell had any integrity he'd reduce or rescind the thing. He proved he has the power, but use it wisely. Why he'd want to hurt the legacy of one of his sports greatest stars is beyond me.

This was ridiculous from the get-go. Right now, it's turning into a CBA issue more than what the Patriots have been accused of. But the severity of the penalty is beyond stupid for what the offense is.

But this thing does look like Brady has fucked Goodell's wife/sister and he didn't like it.

Don't tell me you didn't need anyone to protect Mariota.

I will admit I know nothing about the those prospects (nor any up until they get drafted anyways for that matter)

Tunsil was going to be the Titans #1 pick if they kept it. Now he's dropped to third tackle taken. A joke. We coulda got conklin at 15 and kept the picks.

I feel bad for Tunsil. Smoking pot is nothing compared to the horrible shit that some NFL players get up to. Baltimore took Tunsil off their board because of that video and they used to have a murderer as their captain.

Also, lost in the drug scandal is Tunsil admitting that he got paid at Ole Miss.
