Into the Night might be the only international Netflix piece of crap I've enjoyed so far. A very decent, Langoliers-style thriller.
Frankly, I'll watch anything set on a plane. 4/5.

This was really bad, in my opinion. But I lasted only one ep.

I only watched Ozark because of my crush on Hollywood Renaissance man, Jase Bateman. : )

edgar, are you old enough to recall his first major role? Your hint is that in this role, he had indirect relation with rock gods Van Halen

Re: TV series: Grade Them 2
Just wrapping up a guilty-pleasure-type series and am desperately looking for a new show to watch from start to finish. I lean toward police procedures like Line of Duty, which I am eagerly awaiting to return.
I'm thinking to continue with the Amerikans (I stopped after Season 1 despite enjoying it immensely) or the new season of Endeavour.
Other possibilities are The Killing, Halt and Catch Fire, Killjoys, The Expanse, Wolf Hall, or Sopranos, all of which I've never seen.
Has anyone seen The Shield? It gets good ratings but something about the name throws me off every time I think about it.
Recommendations appreciated.

I mean, the Sopranos from that list. One of the best shows ever and I'm not even that big a fan. I also really like the expanse from that list, but I'm a sci-fi sucker. Neither of these are procedurals though.

Re: TV series: Grade Them 2
The Sopranos is good, but the first season just might put you to sleep and the characters are unpleasant. I watched The Shield in its entirely several years ago and it was quality, but maybe a little too brooding and greasy. I liked Boardwalk Empire more than either of these.
Wolf Hall is on my list of shows to revisit. I really enjoyed it when I saw it a while back.
Have you seen Escape at Dannemora? I think it's a masterpiece, but seems it didn't quite catch on. Another under-the-radar mini that's rarely mentioned is White House Farm.
And although I've never heard a dude say this, The Affair is a good show.

I hated Ozark. The Outsider was also terrible. Don't know what _dong sees in Bateman.

Of the ones I've seen I'd rank them in the following order:
The Americans - Just finished it a couple weeks ago, loved it as I mentioned above. Slow burn.
The Shield - On the final season right now of my re-watch, it's a fun easy show to watch. Character development not as top notch but I'd highly recommend it. Fits the guilty pleasure type series you'd want to see, not a slow burn (though stuff carries over from season to season which I appreciate).
The Sopranos - In the midst of a re-watch with the wife. I personally found it overrated on the first watch through, as I watched it after watching The Wire which I rank as much better. I am enjoying it a bit more though on this watch. Slow burn.
The Killing - I got frustrated watching season 1 and never went back to it.

Re: TV series: Grade Them 2
The Americans, Line of Duty are both among my favourite series in recent years.
Wolf Hall is great.
The Affair is very very good but emotionally exhausting. We still haven't gone back after taking a break mid-season 2.
Also we randomly decided to watch S1 of Masters of Sex earlier this year and really liked it. Planning to go back for S2 soon.

I've rewatched all five season of Line of Duty to the letter, THE LETTER! And I have to say, fella, that it was as brilliant as I remembered.

I recently re-watched Line of Duty as well and I have to say, it felt a little different in the age of QAnon.

Watched it with the missus summer before last. We should probably watch it again.

Believe it or not, I've just started watching Sopranos for the first time. You don't need my review.

Re: TV series: Grade Them 2
The Undoing - kinda dour and depressing, but Hugh Grant is good here.
Big Sky - networky, but fun, fast-paced thriller so far.
Queen's Gambit - starts our well, but becomes extremely predictable. Lead character is too one-dimensional and Mary Sue.

Re: TV series: Grade Them 2
When I saw you had posted, I was praying Line of Duty had just hit. Instead I get whacked with David E. Kelley's resume.
Anyway, better than nothing. Might go for Undoing. But I'm still on Sopranos. Up to Season 5 now. I swear thiere is not a single episode where I don't laugh heartily. Usually to do with Junior. But sometimes I think back to the very first episode [?] where Christopher keeps calling a Croatian [?] guy named Emil "Email" and then kills him.

You can find something better I'm sure.
