Hey guys, so I found an exclusive for the new season of Game of Thrones, I think it's pretty revealing for how the Dragons are going to be a vital part of this season.

Take a look.

Seeing as how they're doing only half of ASOS with this season it'll be interesting to see how they approach it. Do they cut the book in half in a literal sense? Or do they try to tell the full ASOS stories of certain characters and hold off on the others until S4. My guess is they do the former, rather than the latter, and the mid-way point (ie the end of the S3) is likely going to centre around the Red Wedding.

Yeah, I'll be shocked if the season doesn't end with Red Wedding.

I think that might be episode 8 just based off the fact that Martin only writes one episode per season and that's the episode he would most likely pick. And it's already known he's writing episode 8 in the season. I'd be surprised if it ended up being anything else.

The Tyrion/Tywin scene was phenomenal. Dinklage and Dance were terrific in it.

Between the giants and dragons, probably a bigger budget that episode than the previous 2 seasons combined. Maybe this season the battles won't look like high school productions.

They really cut to the chase at the end there by skipping the whole "Arstan Whitebeard" disguise and I guess that means no Strong Belwas either. At the same time, it's been a while since television viewers have seen Barristan Selmy so I guess it makes sense to just have him identify himself to Daenerys and the audience.

Not a fan of the scene between Roz and Shae but that aside, the pace of the episode was quite good and they covered a good amount of ground considering all of the POV story arcs. Mance Rayder isn't exactly what I had envisioned either but I'll wait and see. I like the way Tormund was introduced though.

Belwas can come in next season through the fighting pits. My favourite exchange was definitely Dance and Dinklage, two great actors who will steal the show this season.

From what I have seen, most of the actresses are of the porno quality. They have a look and a type of charisma appropriate for smut with minimal plotting. Young, moderately attractive, empty shells of women.

I like Dinklage and have seen him in some other things and on talk shows. He is very charismatic. He doesn't sound like a midget. Most midgets sound unlike most people.

I think Emilia Clarke (Danaerys), Sophie Howard (Sansa), the actress that plays Catelyn, Lena Hedley (Cersei), and Maisie Williams(?) (Arya) are all pretty good. The actress who plays Brienne (Gwendolyn Christie?) I guess could be seen as a bit stiff but I think she has been decent and she acts that way because she is supposed to be mannish. I could see your point for Talisa (Oona Chaplin), Shae who actually was a Turkish porn star but I think she since has acted in an acclaim winning movie, and Ros who doesn't exist in the books and whose purpose at least originally in the story was just to get people to explain things that need to be explained for the story and to provide some tits and ass.

Yeah, I doubt Meryl Streep was being considered for the role of Brienne.

There is a certain smut element as there is an excessive amount of scenes in the brothels, and if you are cast as a whore, strong acting probably isn't a necessity. It's a weak point of the show, really, and adds a B rate feel.

The uncessary nudity did pop up a lot in the first two seasons though I have to admit I did not mind. For the most part this season they have cut down on the tits and ass quite a bit though there were two or three appearances of naked whores that while enjoyable and actually funny in one instance were not necessary to plot as far as I can see. In the most recent episode both of the nudity scenes were actually relevant to the plot though I suppose they could have done it without actually showing much in the way of private parts.

It's somewhat fair to say the first 2 seasons are smut filled Spartacus War of the Damned type of shit with better acting and story-telling as your excuse to not watch the show, but watching the 3rd season, all of those "devices" somewhat disappear and you have to dig deeper to find reasons to hate it.

As sad as it is, without the nudity and the shock factor of it for an HBO show, I doubt it would have the following it has now. Now they can put that random nudity crap to bed and really go forward with the story, which isn't half bad.

Mad Men is pretty sex-driven and they get by just fine without being on a cable network like HBO and not showing nudity, there are ways to allude to it without showing any and still getting the point across. With Game of Thrones (even though I still continue to watch it) was that they are on HBO, maybe the viewership isn't as widespread as AMC is, so they need to shock people and draw them in, what better way than some nudity and some twisted story to go along with it?

It worked. I am just glad that in Season 3, it's more story driven, they are in the part of the books where shit really hits the fan and gets really interesting. This is the season people talk about in shows as "holy fuck, remember season 3?"...if you aren't watching it now, watching it later, you'll be that kid that finally gets the joke 10mins later and everyone has already moved on and are like "yeah yeah, we already know, you dumb fuck."

I didn't notice this myself but I read a comment that pointed out that Jon Snow and Ygritte ending their climb was a contrast to Littlefinger's speech about climbing the power ranks. If that was intentional I think that it was a cool way to end the show.

I agree, it's a shame, since that midget and the torturing of whats-his-face(I'm happy not knowing his name, no need to correct me geeks) is really good.

A lot of the time you can see the writer living out his fantasies, which isn't very comfortable, fantasy is often like watching another dude masturbate. Which believe me when I tell you, ain't fun.

With Magic and Dragons, you have to go all in, like LOTR, for it to work well. Not sure it serves a useful purpose in the world this particular author created. He's either taking himself way to seriously if it is indeed scifi fantasy, or not serious enough if its not.

Then throw the Skinimax level sex scenes, and I'm wondering WTF are they trying to accomplish?

LOTR is fantasy, Game of Thrones is more magic realism. Think Erin Mortgenstern or Neil Gaiman.

I was down with the dragons even if they're silly. The way they exist in that world somehow works. When a redhead shits out a shadow assassin and some dude too keen on blue jawbreakers start doubling himself, that's just annoying.

It only gets worse from here. I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't read the books, but pretty much all the major characters end up in a story-line that involves a substantial amount of supernatural.
