It was classic Towelie. I don't want to see anything associated with the north until either Stannis or Jon is king.

I feel the same way.

And losing Ygritte is a total downer. Jon Snow is much more interesting with her alive.

I bet you get that at about the 55th minute of the next episode.

There have been strong hints.

Saw about 15 minutes of this week's épisode and found it wanting, grotesquely violent to the extent it became laughable. Monsters and leather clad assholes spouting garbidge.

I guess I'll give it a proper go, if only for its ridiculousness.

Careful with spoilers ...

They have played it very close to the vest. The only reason I am convinced it's happening is that the writers have repeatedly set it up with subtle references.

As far as GoT this season, the battle at the wall was the weakest episode.

It's all downhill after next episode. I predict after an average to weak season five, then the show should start picking up again in the middle of season six.

Unless they decide to cram everything interesting from books 4 and 5, which isn't a whole lot into one season.

Agreed, but the 16 year old version of me would have loved it. On its own terms, it was a well executed episode. Just not terribly compelling compared to the rest of the story.

I think it's hard to judge. Let's be real, the show runners are almost certainly aware of the flaws in the upcoming material ... and will take action to improve. In the case of Bran's arc, it has already begun.

Let's meet up in Toronto and start there.

Well, they can pick and choose from both books because they happen during the same chronological time period.

I think there's enough in both books for 20 episodes, not to mention, they seem to be taking more liberties with the source material as it goes along.

Yuck. If I was watching it by myself I'd skip those parts.

The episode felt necessary but not that enjoyable. It's like they had too much to share the episode with other story lines, but not enough to fill the hour. So they stretched it.

The Bran storyline was laughably weak.

CGI skeletons?

Children throwing light bombs?

Bizarre.

Fun fact: they completely exhausted the Bran storyline as written in the books. So, if you thought it was lame on the show, imagine two books of it.

To be honest, when I read through the books, I pretty much skimmed Bran since he left Winterfell.

I liked Stannis and Davos - I thought they pulled that bit off quite well.
