Excluding Christian Slater and Rami Malek from the main story line of Mr Robot season 2 was a brave and disastrous decision.

Vice Principals - I don't like Danny McBride much, but I enjoyed the first two episodes. Shot in beautiful Charleston, NC.

Sad to say that Narcos is not filling to void left by The Night of. I don't know why this fictional Pablo has to be such a stuck-up dullard. Boyd Holbrook's character isn't much better. Worst of all, there are no good female characters here.

Someone needs to tell the writers that mafia-crime shows need well-written female characters. The Sopranos did. Boardwalk Empire did. Without this you all have is a smug sausage fest. Which is what this is.

Goliath - good actors, but the writing is really a big mess. The plot is too contrived to be completely satisfying. Yes, it is difficult to write a good eight-hour movie and this shows. But it's a pretty decent binge, with some fun moments.

Having now finished all 7 seasons of Buffy and 4/5 seasons of Angel, I can now disagree with this statement. It's true that when they were both on TV together, Angel was better. But that's because the later seasons of Buffy are weak. Arguably each Buffy season after 2 is weaker than the one before it. But boy did Angel go off the rails in season 4. That was the worst full season of television I have ever watched. Not sure I'll bother with the final season.

They pretty much reboot Angel for the last season. It was filmed after Buffy ended and Firefly was cancelled, so Josh Whedon was a lot more involved and his style of light comedy mixed with dark horror returned to the show.

Plus, Spike joins the cast for the last season and it is fun to see Angel deal with a vampire with a soul who isn't all emo about it.

Yes season 5 of Angel was much better than season 4. The first half was hit-and-miss and had some definite low points, but it really got rolling toward the end.

Anyway, it's over. I finally did it. I finished the entire TV BuffyAngelVerse. I'm free. I'm free from this arduous task I set upon myself. I can now watch any number of TV shows. Like Luke Cage. Or Stranger Things. Or Black Mirror. Or the new Gilmore Girls.

DS9 is okay. Many bad and filler episodes. Too tonally serious throughout. And for some reasons the show gets progressively worse into the final season.

TNG is my personal favorite. But I would advise skipping the first two seasons because they are god awful. It is almost impossible to work one's way through them and not give up. But seasons 3-7 are golden.

Guilty pleasure episode: s06e03 Man of the People. Hilarious.

I will check it out then. I can't stand DS9 anymore.

The dumb religious shit gets on my nerves and the writing is too allegorical. Trekkies of course love this. Many a situation and conflict is a metaphor for something in the real world - the Nazis, Vietnam, authoritarianism, etc. Most of the best liked episodes of DS9 are this way and are interpreted as deep. Instead it's all obvious.

I think the original series created the right template - Kirk and his crew travel to weird planets and make love to green women. Then add amusing technobabble and temporal anomalies for good measure. Camp always ages well.

Fun fact about Seven of Nine actress, Jeri Ryan: the details of her divorce were so salacious that they forced her husband, Jack Ryan, to withdrawal himself as Republican nominee for the Senate seat in Illinois, paving the way for Barack Obama to win the election in a land slide.

Voyager is mostly light sci fi adventure. There is an episode where they fight a space tornado, another where they rescue Amelia Earhart, and one where 7 of 9 has to fight The Rock in alien fighting tournament. But if you thought DS9 was heavy handed and overly allegorical, you really love it when Voyager tries to tackle issues like global warming, sexual assault, or the modern value of Native American spiritual traditions.

Have you seen the documentary "Chaos on the Bridge"? It's about the the first two seasons of TNG. Early TNG is a lot more entertaining when you know the clusterfuck that was going on behind the scenes.

If anyone is interested in seeing it, it is available for rent on youtube. Also here is a unrelated link that certainly has nothing to do with the subject previous sentences http://tinyurl.com/z9p9bvx

Actually I kind of enjoy the first two seasons of TNG now, but believe that they are a bad way to begin watching the series. Most of them are MST3K quality.

There is one episode where they are in a casino which is good fun and another one called 'Conspiracy', which is entertaining and plays like a Verhoeven film.

I watched Voyager (and all Star Trek) live when I was a kid. But I stopped the series when I hit mid late teens. I don't remember the ends of Voyager or DS9 so I thought that I'd rewatch them.

Each has its merits. TNG is pretty brilliant in comparison. Even the acting is significantly better.

I like the darkness of DS9 and I like the aggression in it. But otherwise, from a pure Star Trek perspective, its probably the least worthy.

Voyager has a lot of interesting angles and it's worth a look. If you like the Borg storyline, the last half becomes interesting. If you don't, just skip it. The last season is pretty awful and I'' glad I didn't watch it when I was 15.

The Q story arc in TNG and the spiritual side of Picard makes TNG an overall great show. All good things is the best wrap up of any series I've ever seen.

I like how after a bunch of the crew was murdered by one another, Counselor Troi's biggest concern at the end of the episode was Lt Barclay's ego after having a disease named after him.
