In the greatest of surprises, a Han Solo stand alone film was announced today.
http://www.starwars.com/news/christophe ... ology-film
The next adventure in the Anthology series of Star Wars films will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, whose credits include the critically acclaimed The LEGO Movie and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street.
...
The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan. The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.
...
Slated for a May 25, 2018 release

The casting of Han Solo will determine how good this movie ends up.

True.

And I'd rather a younger Han Solo. Someone who looks more like 25 than 35.

Or maybe not:
http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospect ... logy-film/
Wesley Morris: Allow me, please, a moment of doomsaying. This truly abysmal, powerfully desperate idea warrants reconsideration. Previous attempts at imagining the pre-middle-aged Harrison Ford have not gone swimmingly: the life of River Phoenix, the career of Sean Patrick Flanery, every Han Solo Halloween-costume-contest entrant who’s come in second to a Chewbacca or third to a Darth Vader. By playing the shock son of Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood, Shia LaBeouf made only the narrowest of escapes. The unlucky actor who steps into this used role steps at his peril.

It's an empirical fact that everyone not born before and during WWII in our first world is ordinary. Let's face it, misery made us better.

Been going back and forth between giddy with excitement and slightly saddened that I saw so much of the behind the scenes production before the movie is released. Either way it was awesome.
