Canada's Top 10 Douchiest MPs: #2

Post #1 by Walrus » Fri Sep 26, 2014 12:55 pm

Pierre Poilievre is finally the best at something!

Added Alexander, Van Loan, Trudeau (because his father was a slut), Beaulieu (because he leads the Bloq), Adams, Baird, Rempel and Raitt.

1. Pierre Poilievre

Anyone catch Calandra crying crocodile tears over his non-answers in the House of Commons?

This is an impressive list.

Can you imagine if Harper's iron grip ever is loosened and these animals are allowed to run wild?

Maybe it's because the reform party was a long time ago, but it just seems to me like the current crop is worse. The Reformers were loose cannons but they weren't naked partisans willing to say and do just about anything. I disagreed with most of their policies, but at least they had some principles etc. These guys are just jackasses.

The previous generation never had the chance to govern, which limited their exposure.

I voted PVL this time. He's odious.

Unpopular opinion perhaps: I like Rempel, Raitt and Baird. Baird's become wonderfully self-aware in recent years. Being Foreign Minister has actually calmed him a bit.

A lot of solid, solid talent on the board.

I have to go with Anders as he's been the most consistently douchey MP aside from Skippy. I think Del Mastro's chances of going 2nd overall were diminished when he resigned from caucus and was replaced by Calandra as PS to PMSH. Keep your chin up Dean IMHO you're still going to go in the top five.

Pretty much. When Gary Goodyear said that putting on shoes to adapt to hard cement is an example of evolution, it was scary because he actually was Canada's Minister of Science.

It's too bad Bev Oda and Vic Toews both resigned, the Conservatives lost some good talent there. I think Toews would have been a lock for top-5.

Alexander deserves serious consideration. For him to cast off the shackles of a distinguished diplomatic career so quickly and to descend into partisan obliviousness so quickly is something many a partisan can only dream of doing.

Yeah, but the fact that they didn't have a chance to govern also kept away the opportunistic d-bags.

Baird does get a bit of a pass from me because you could always tell he did his douchebaggery with a twinkle in his eye, and it wasn't just smashing-head-on-the-wall stupidity. Also, he's managed to isolate the homophobes in the party, which is pretty impressive.

Is Goguen the dude who asked a prostitute about being raped by two Russians, and something something about her freedom of expression?

Nice, some absolute gems got swept in by that NDP wave in Quebec.

I just looked that guy up, and apparently his riding went from 4.8% NDP in 2008 to 48.9% in 2011.

The nice thing is, there are no really wrong answers. There's a vapid cornucopia of douchiness. From Anders yelling about Nelson Mandela and general assholishness, to Julian Fantino being Julian Fantino...

Image <-- awesome purely because he has no excuses. I can sorta understand the life long politicos who've done nothing but work for the party, but this guy had an actual career. He wasn't even a used RV salesman.

What's the name of the ex-cop from Manitoba who the CPC uses to be tough on crime?

I've come to like Baird sorta, I don't think he takes himself too seriously. Might be that he has no ambitions of going any further due to lifestyle choices.

Jason Kenny is just bizarre, southern baptist republican transplant. Is he still claiming to be a virgin?

Calandra, Pollievre... so many good choices provided by our government.

Anders would probably take it if he weren't dead in the water. He's pretty much a former MP at this point, just waiting for that fat pension. The funny thing is that he's going to have to wait 12 years to get the first check, and it's hard to imagine anyone hiring him for anything substantial in the meantime.

There it is. He can co-host a show with Ezra Levant. Or maybe they can be regulars on a panel discussion show, kinda like the Sun News version of Power and Politics?
