3rd part DRM also includes things like Online Passes

Ah, that's the DRM people were talking about. They already implemented that with Dead Space 2 and I think Mass Effect 3.

That's not even a factor for me considering Microsoft is now charging like 10 a month for XBL

I imagine if studios want to match the type of DRM that Xbox1 has then they will bring CD keys to the PS4. After all, it's what killed sharing and used games on the PC.

Where the hell are you buying Live? The MSRP for Live is 12 months for $59.99 but it is regularly on sale in stores for $39.99. That's $3.33 to $5 a month.

Bah, I could live with that. Even if I don't really play PS online (more a fan of PC games online). I may even end up paying for it without using it once a month.

EA is definitely a fucking bitch in that regard. But a lot a major developers have 'em: Origins, UPlay, Battle.net (Blizzard is looking to publish games on consoles still last time I heard)...

I kind of understand where EA is coming from because on one hand, they create incredible games, yet their games are the most torrented and pirated of all the major companies. On the other hand, they require persistent connectivity even DURING single-player modes. To me, that's not fucking appropriate. That's downright insulting to think that a game developer doesn't have the sense for what bandwidth and persistent online connectivity does for anyone who just wants to play at the cottage or doesn't want to buy internet from Rogers / Bell.

Blizzard has no excuse either. I stopped played a few months ago. I was playing Hardcore, got up to Paragon 90 or something and the Blizzard client disconnected from the server, which meant that I couldn't control my character and he died -- permanently. I was kind of hopeful that I would be able to sneak into the top-50 in the World for paragon 100 in Hardcore haha... ah well. 150 hours over a few months wasted. Fuck them.

Which system will be better for a guy looking to spend hours at a time ripping slappers with Marc-Andre Bergeron in NHL 14's create-a-player test mode??

Pretty sure month to month is $10 a month now. Obviously the yearly subscription is cheaper, but I didn't have the money a couple months for a yearly subscription so I had to buy a month or a 3month. Yearly for XBL will be cheaper, but I wouldn't mind paying a little more for what I consider to be a better console just like I had no problem paying for XBL on 360 because I thought the 360 was superior to the ps3

Looks like Microsoft did a 180 (get used to seeing that pun) with the Xbox One's DRM policies. No more loaning or used game DRM and an internet connection only required for the console setup. Also, disc regions are gone.

All that probably means you have to keep the disc in the drive to play now, which I personally find much more annoying than not being able to sell shit to Gamestop.

I bought one, my ps3 died a month ago. I definitely get made fun of using the voice controls for being a complete dork, but I find it pretty cool. So far I have Madden and dead rising.

Fully, 100% expected. They would have done it earlier if the anger that lead them to already change the system didn't die down.

Anyone ever have issues syncing your remote? I can turn the xBox on with it, but then it shuts off or doesn't want to sync.

Sunset Overdrive is the best game out for the system. Really fun, nice to see a game actually use colors.
