Got a bottle of Aberfeldy 12 and one of Laphroaig Quarter Cask for Christmas. Liking the Aberfeldy much so far. Have yet to open the Laphroaig.

Open the Laphroaig with caution. You'll either fall in love or just fall over.

Already have a Laphroaig 10, which I enjoy. Where'd you put the Quarter Cask in comparison to the 10?

Its sweeter and almost more potent. Probably because more scotch gets contact with more cask throughout the aging process.

I'm not a huge Laphroaig guy but I have a friend who swears by it and he loves it.

Had the Jura Superstition the other night and quite liked it. I think I'll buy it next. Seemed like a nice balanced type, somewhere in the middle of the usual scotch extremes.

I'm having the Bowmore now. I'm rather liking the smoky finish.

The anCnoc will probably be taken to a Scotch party I'm attending next month. It isn't available at the LCBO so it should be a cool bottle to bring.

I finished my Macallan 25 a few months ago (which was a gift my dad got me at my wedding). I think he bought the 1975 edition.

I just noticed that the SAQ has just released a few new bottles of Macallan 25. $1,560. Bloody hell. What has happened to scotch.

Though to be honest, if I could somehow control myself from opening it. It'd be a great investment.

Apparently Rye got all trendy all of a sudden and there was very little supply for aged ryes. So anything on the market is very young in comparison. Just have one of those aged ryes from the buffalo trace antique collection. Have another 2 of those from 2012. Then have 3 Four roses limited editions that are also quoting prices for ~$850. Mind boggling. I thought I was out of my mind for paying $80 per back in the day....now 10xs that?!?!
