Yeah a baby on the bottle. The stout replaced the cappuccino stout I couldn't find.

No, but they were on my list. Too many good things in that town, we just couldn't do it.

It was really nice with some good beers.

It's like a much nicer Pub Italia.

It was actually a funeral home. The pub is in the former chapel.

I tried Lake Effect the other night. I prefer Thrust.

Or as I've been calling it after a few beers, Thrush.

Once a beer is that good you're really just talking about personal preference in terms of flavour profile. My approach is to drink whichever they happen to be making right now.

I just cracked the mild I brewed a few weeks ago. Not bad. Not a style I really drink much of, so I'm not really sure how to evaluate it, but I think I'll be able to drink all of these without any issue.

DDC Moralite is coming to the LCBO in the spring. It's a very good IPA.

I was originally curious to see if they could pull off an American-style IPA.

I was impressed.

I got a few beers at work for my birthday - Lake Effect, Samuel Smith Winter Warmer etc.

One I'd never seen is Trafalgar's Orange Chocolate Porter.

I'll give them points for originality.

We'll see about the taste.

They don't seem to have much of a good track record.

You'd be surprised what you can find in those parts of the world.

Singha from Thailand is pretty popular.

The Sinha Stout is very tasty (also called Lion Stout) from Sri Lanka.

You can also get Guinness Foreign Extra Stout out there which is probably the best Guinness beer you can drink.

When I was in Malaysia, most people drank Carlsburg.

You can probably find anything out there, but the freshness of IPAs will be in doubt and what/where you find it is totally up in the air. South-East Asia imports all kinds of European and American stuff, so you really might find anything.

Other than that, I echo everything Nyquill said.

I'd probably stick to Aussie ipas if that option arises. a few have made them here not ruined so they'd probably be quite good that much closer.

Went to Beyond The Pale's second birthday party tonight and fuck are they ever the best brewery in eastern Ontario by a long shot. Their sour cask was exceptional as was their Tongue Twister IIPA and sour stout. I also liked beaus pan Ottawa.

They also were offering up beer ice cream which was fucking fantastic.

Yeah I've been pretty big on BTP.

A little more diversity in the flavour profile of their beers unlike Beaus which typically has that underlying hay character.

Oast House and Silversmith Brewery are worth checking out if any of you are in the Niagara Region. Neither brewery is huge on hoppy IPAs, but they have some interesting beers and rotate their offerings pretty frequently. Oast House has ginger and chestnut beers out right now that are both decent.

I had a few of those Formidable's over the weekend. Total citrus bombs when I tried them. Loved it. By far the best thing I've had with a Beau's label on it.

I did too.

It's probably got to do with the handling of the kegs. Dirty draught lines can destroy that kind of flavour, for example.

Founders Centennial IPA tonight. Got rave reviews but not the hop bomber I was expecting. Kinda malty for an IPA.

I think fresh centennial is a terrific IPA, but it's more of a balanced one than a total hop bomb.

I really like Maximus, but it isn't super hoppy either. Green Flash Palate Wrecker is probably the best high ABV hop bomb I have had.

Made a run to Watertown, NY today came home with:

Troegs Nugget Nectar
Ballast point Sculpin
Lagunitas Maximus
Dfh 90minute
Bells Two Hearted Ale
Stone mixed 12 with Arrogant Bastard, Ruination, Cali-Belgique, and Delicious IPA.

Had the first three so far and I'd rank them Maximus, sculphin, nugget Nectar.
