It's raining and all the festivals are over. Still, go out and drink.

Check out old Town.

Get falling down drunk, go to the rippers, get late night poutine.

That's about it, honestly. Lots of good food and such, of course.

The cool thing about mtl when youre young and single is...there are women at every kind of venue. Death metal...punk whatever. Every venue is a market

Yeah, old montreal is the only place really worth it to walk around. Otherwise, food and drink and terrasses. You can walk up the mountain if you feel like it.

Uqam area is close walking distance to east end of old mtl. Concordia is further out in the west, but walkable (maybe 25min or something?) and you walk past the downtown core. Concordia is in the anglo part and uqam in the franco part. Very different feel. Both are decent areas to stay.

Walking through Montreal from Concordia to old town will really give you a feel for the place.

More importantly Predo, if you ask I bet Dog and Banana would take you out for a drink.

First weekend in Sept is what I'm looking at. Wouldn't get into YUL until 10pm or so Friday night. But just doing prelim work on where to go so not like it's set in stone or anything

Berri Uqam is convenient, but also keep in mind it's the worst area of town. Not Detroit/Baltimore bad. But not as clean as what you'd expect in Canada. 10 streets west of there is like the middle of downtown core. 4 streets south is the start of old town. 2 streets east is the start of the gay village. 5 starts north is the start of the plateau (nice to go around on a 2nd trip).

It's where many of the franco bars/terrasses are at. Banana used to live a stones throw away up til a few months ago. Not the classiest part of the city, but certainly one of the funnest. I just think banana doesn't want you hooking up with the slutty french ladies.

Most americans tend to prefer the western end of downtown. Crescent street and the like, which is just Guido central. I thought Predo isn't most americans and might actually enjoy local culture. That said, staying on the West end and walkig to old mtl/st-denis is certainly a very good way to get a good overall feel for the downtown area.

Everytime I go out Montreal we inevitably end up at the casino and I wake up the next morning with hundreds more dollars than when I set out for the evening. Most times I don't remember how...

I didn't even know that Montreal had a casino and would never have gone into it had I known it existed. Hell, I have only ever been to the one in Windsor once, and that was to visit someone I knew who worked there when it first opened.
