Ok now we got some more people standings. 2 this time. The phone guy left never to return. These people look like a couple. Plus someone's Nokia phone keeps going off but it never gets answered.

Really, my only lasting impression of Bratislava was being in the city centre with my brother and having a hooker walk up to us innocently and asking

"Cigarette?

Cigarette?

Sex?"

It was so desperate that it was comical.

I hope you trip was as entertaining, Puffster.

Europe really needs to work on the standing in line thing. They either cut or just line up to line up

I think it varies based on personal experience. I'll give you an underrated/overrated:

Underrated

Madrid
Brussels
Florence
Edinburgh
Dublin

Overrated

Paris
Rome
Amsterdam
Prague
Venice

About what you expect: German speaking countries

I always have difficulty comparing English speaking countries to non-English speaking just because the experience is so different.

But top 5 is probably

London
Madrid
Edinburgh
Dublin
Paris

Was thinking about this: think Dublin and Paris get booted for Vienna and Budapest.

London
Budapest
Madrid
Vienna
Edinburgh

Also will take Rome off my overrated list, just dont go in the peak season. Would add Berlin and Strasbourg to the underrated list. Since theres a bunch of broads haters for Berlin.

I know this is subjective but Edinburgh or Budapest over Paris? Edinburgh has trouble eclipsing Glasgow let alone Paris.

Rome on any overrated list? Granted the number of touts and other assorterd bothers in places like piazza Navona or around the coliseum is annoying. Public transportation is terrible particularly Termini station which is beyond appalling.

But you can’t argue with the architecture, the history or the art. It’s not spectacular on the culinary front but if you do a little research you can eat well.

I ate better in Rome than I did Paris. Paris' is overwhelmingly committed to the Bistro, to it's detriment. Great takeaway though, especially desserts.

Rome is my favourite destination to date, with the caveat that I went in December and even then the crowds were annoying. I can imagine it would be awful in the summer.

I’ve been to Rome but always in December and in March. Its always busy but manageable. I can imagine it being less than stellar in July (only a git would go in August).

Food wise a little research or simply following the locals goes a long way. If one decides to eat in a restaurant in the shadow of the pantheon that has an English menu advertising CocaCola then they deserve what they get.

I have a completely opposite appreciation for the Parisienne bistro. Burger joints were starting to get popular last time I was in Paris. Fuck that noise, give me duck confit at a bistro.

I just saw that. That is much changed from when I skated there. It was just a big open space with a booth in the middle to serve that awful, warm alcohol concoction that they made.
