Which reminds me. Went to pick up a rental car in Paris near Gare de l'Est. Bit of a dodgy neighbourhood and of course I couldn't find the place. I stop in a small hotel to ask for directions. While I'm talking to the hotel guy some dude starts smacking his girlfriend outside and my wife starts screaming that somebody is being attacked. I walk towards them, the chick comes towards me -I ask if she's ok, she says she wants to call the police I tell her to go into the hotel and I block the guy's way. He starts explaining himself -all gibberish from what I can understand, the girl is talking all gibberish too. I'm like dude, I know not nor do I care for yer stories, but like don't smack her. Then the guy starts telling me "call the cops, I don't care. Call Chirac, get him here in person, I don't care". I'm like "what?" He says "Call the president himself, I don't care". I'm like "dude, you're a little out of date...that's like 3 presidents ago". He's like "the fuck do I care". All the while, my wife is inside the hotel yelling at him to get out, so everytime I sorta calm him, she gets him all riled up again.

Good times.

I think so. Like seriously, he was relatively calm saying whatever he was saying and she kept yelling at him from inside and getting him all worked up. I kept on thinking she's going to make him walk in, forcing me to restrain him which is probably going to get him to punch or push me. We had just been followed by a bunch of street thugs (we were looking for a place, looking lost) -it was crowded so I didn't fear they were going to attack, they were probably looking for an opportunity to grab something and run. That had her already unnerved. I guess she figured collecting on my life insurance was the best play for her at that point.

That "call Chirac" thing was pretty good. I was all amused by it. Nobody else seems to have gotten the same enjoyment from it, though. It's like if some dude in Montreal thinks Jean Chretien was still PM and yelled that in the street to try to sound tough. It's fantastic!

On my flight to Kingston last night two women got into a verbal spat over the younger one talking on her phone during the flight safety instructions.

On de-planing, the older woman gets right in her face about it, and the younger one slaps her across the face, turns and walks off. The older one starts yelling that she's been assaulted and asks the airport staff to stop the other woman. To which they do nothing.

So she follows her out into the parking lot, and they continue arguing, and someone calls the cops.

Mrs. Plan wants to hang around in case they need a witness, I'm like let's go, we just spent 48 hours in airports, and let's not get involved.

Your Greg only has a few days before child birth. He will no longer be the Greg you remember. Time to trade up and let the idea of Greg live on.

Been to the Steppenwolf earlier this week. Will do architecture tour, cubs game, art institute, deep dish pizza and maybe Hamilton this weekend. Will try to catch a drive-by shooting on the south side and should be done.
