I never knew there was a golf course there. All you really can see from the camp is the buildings that the police/military use as barracks/facilities and the houses behind the prison. You can see traffic passing on the other side of the camp but there really isn't anything that direction to get you to walk on that side. Once you get back to the gas chamber and crematorium it's pretty secluded and trees everywhere. There's even a short walk you can take to go by a few mass grave sites.

Friendlier than Berliners overall, though. Better English and teeth too. More racist, though.

But they make a great automobile! Conversely, the Berliners still can't open the airport they've seemingly been working on since the wall came down.

Hey I’m going to Munich this weekend, I’m looking to go somewhere else, where should I go? Anyone been to Innsbruck? Linz and southern Bohemia? Pilzen? Been to Wien, Salzburg, Praha (sucks), and Nuremberg already so that’s backup plans (probs Wien, didn’t get to go to any museums)

Was in Innsbruck for a day and don't remember much. It is geared towards skiers, which is not me.

Linz is a quaint little city. Not much to see or do, but a decent place to live. I had a friend who lived there and I visited him a couple of times. I mostly just remember going out for drinks, but not where.

I spent a weekend in Plzen and České Budějovice each, but neither time did I organize it, but just went along and drunk the beer, while being told why I was fortunate to be drinking the original beer because it was the best beer in the world.

yeah Budvar is good but alas....thinking I might just do spend the day in Munich and go to the BMW museum, then take the railjet to Vienna for two days. If I get bored there's always Bratislava an hour away and I didn't really explore anything there beyond the christmas markets.

Anyone been to Ljubljana? Only two hours longer than Vienna

I was there for a little bit, as well as Maribor, but mostly the same as the Czech beer weekends, they were organized by others and I just followed along. What I remember most of Slovenia was that I felt like I had traveled back in time to the 1950s (this was in 1996), because it appeared to be a simpler way of life.

either kunsthistorishes museum (classical art with some masters), belvedere (castle is nice, plus decent collection including gustav klimt) or the kunst haus wien / hundertwasser haus (modern, but small collection ... the building is the art work)

Spent a night in Innsbruck. Looked run down and uninteresting (other than the mountain views).

Coolest thing we did in the region was drive the Glossglockner High Mountain Pass (https://www.grossglockner.at/gg/en/index). It goes from nowhere to nowhere, but man is it awesome. We eneded up staying the night in Innsbruck, but you could press on a few more hours to Munich or (probably better yet) head on to the Italian side and stay at Cortina d’Ampezzo or some other such suchness.

I would not recommend this road trip at all. I took 45 tourists from Micronesia there and at least four of them were violently murdered by local municipal workers who were furious about Brexit and its long-term ramifications. A peculiar way to express your political opinions I'd say. But that's Austria and life in the Alp.

One of those passes (not that one) had indeed been closed a while back to prevent the flood of dark people from the lands below from reaching Germanic soils.

Nope, Leopold and Kuns. Last natural history museum I went to was in London and it sucked. The Auckland museum’s section to it was good but mainly because of all the animals that are unique to just there.

Hamburg was decentish/boring but the port was cool.

I would go to Desden if nothing other than there must be a few museum or references to the firebombing and I'd like to see that.

Talk to me about Geneva and the surrounding area and Zagreb and the surrounding area. Weather sucks this weekend in north part of Europe so trying to escape south-ish.

Ok it is Athens, assuming uk storm Daniel or whatever stops me. Can you cover the acropolis in a day? More than a day? Anything worth doing after that? Can either do 3 full days or 2.5 days then half day in London Town or Germany
