Orlando/Disney

Post #1 by MP » Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:35 am

I've been avoiding this trip, but Mrs. Plan has said it's time. Going on March break. Give me the details.

Also if you are going to do it, pull your kids out of school and go in September/October.

We hate Disney.

We really like Universal. We only go during off peak times but we’ve been a few times and it’s not that horrible Disney disaster experience. Stayed at the Portofina hotel last time and enjoyed that too.

Quite literally the worst and most expensive days of my life. I've never felt so insignificant in my life, or so much like cattle being corralled in order to be milked...

Universal was better, but much the same.

I had no problems with our resort, and would have been perfectly happy sitting in a lounge chair drinking beer for the week. It was the theme parks that didn't agree with me, but we did them for the kids.

What I can't believe is the number of people that repeatedly go to Disney and act like they are having the time of their lives, holding their $20 mickey balloon, aimlessly pushing their stroller holding their passed out toddler, through the hoards of obesity, all wearing homemade t-shirts labeled with what member of the familthey are ... Numerous time my wife and I exchanged looks of confusion and dismay, as we weren't feeling 'the magic'.
