Anyone have any insight as to what Anthony DeAngelo did to get suspended twice in a season?

Racial slurs against a teammate was one. Not sure about the first one.

DeAngelo was fucked over by a shitty fucking teammate. He didn't even say anything remotely racist.

That's the first I've heard that. I'm surprised the team suspended him then.

They didn't have a choice, Branch, the Sting, the league. They were all put in a shitty place by an absolutely awful family/player.

That one I don't know about. The eight game one though, it was BS.

The Ontario court judge who imposed a publication ban in the sex assault trial of Windsor Spitfire Ben Johnson is to decide Thursday whether the ban will continue.

Justice Micheline Rawlins imposed the ban Monday after the first witness in the trial began testifying. The witness, according to the Crown, was called to tender what’s referred to as similar fact evidence related to Johnson’s alleged conduct.

Johnson, 20, is charged with sexually assaulting a young woman on Jan. 13, 2013 at the Krooked Kilt, a bar on Wyandotte Street West.

Johnson was arrested in March 2013 after a second alleged sexual assault in the washroom of downtown bar Mynt...

So, Sarnia is fucking stupid.

The Sarnia Sting have taken forward Pavel Zacha (6'3, 203-pounds) with the first overall pick in the CHL Import draft.

Sarnia was advised that Pavel Zacha has a professional contract in Czech Republic for 2 more years and has no interest in playing for them.

So yes, Sarnia just wasted a first overall pick in the import draft. Morons.

Meanwhile, Fiala is dropping like a rock. I'm wondering if teams know something about his eventual destination, or no one talked to him because he was supposed to go to Quebec.

Missy takes Leafs first rounder, Nylander. Not sure if he's going to report either. He's also AHL eligible, so the chances of playing for the Ice Dogs has to be slim.

David Pastrnak taken by the Belleville Bulls... he was a 1st round pick of the Bruins in the NHL draft & played at the WJC with Czech Rep (also AHL eligible).

Fiala probably doesn't come over, Nylander's agent is mad the Steelheads took him.

Kitchener's pick is already at the Aud, so I think we're pretty safe. Apparently Landeskog talked to the kid before the draft as well.

Does he play in Erie?

Pretty sure I've seen him play, but I couldn't tell you about his game whatsoever (which might be an indication...).

He is Erie's 4th line centre.

Charlie, was thinking about you last night as I listened to the latest Junior podcast. Have you heard it? It's relatively new. I really like it. It's a weekly podcast by Jeff Marek and Sam Cosentino talking for an hour or so exclusively about the CHL. Good interviews, stories, analysis, rumours, draft talk, Mem Cup etc.

Last episode (Dec 17) was especially good with interviews with Roger Shannon, Moncton Wildcats (Dir Hockey Ops), Paul McFarland, Kingston (Head Coach), and Gare Joyce, Sportsnet Writer, on his 5,500 Kilometre road trip with the Thunderbirds from Seattle up to Saskatoon and throughout.

Production level is a little hokey but I highly recommend it for you. 5/5

Wow, don't check a thread in a few days and you find out things you may not have wanted to know! LOL

Lots of silly trades going on - not so much the trades, but the returns. I really hope Hiebert gets in on it (he got a ton in return for Pederson) - Bailey would bring a king's ransom and I suspect Iafrate would as well.

The Pederson and McCarron trades will set Oshawa back like five years. At least. But, they may win the title this year.

Bailey to the Soo... waiting to hear what's coming back.

Oozes skill... if anyone can get him to play with fire 100% of the time, it's Keefe. Watch out league... Bailey should become a beast.

I'm surprised Oshawa gave up such a huge package for McCarron and Mermis. What they gave up should have been reserved for Domi. That's why Twohey left. He didn't want to make future sacrificing moves like that, Rocco Tullio did.

And now DeAngelo on his way to the Soo too. They've acquired Bailey, Ritchie and DeAngelo to join up with Nurse, Tolchinsky and McCann. Interesting moves by the Greyhounds. They're really going for it.

Lots of movement today, with a few headscratchers thrown in there.

I'm not sure I understand Paterson to Kitchener, but Kitchener's goaltending has been a major weak spot since Gibson, and perhaps Paterson mentoring Carty will help in the long run. Not sure what happens to Greenfield though. I fully expected Iafrate to be gone from Kitchener. Since he's staying, I want Troy Smith to start using him the way he should be -- he's one of Kitchener's best (and snarliest) defensemen and should be getting first unit PP time.

Still a few more deals in the works, from what I understand.
