Not has indicated he wants to come back, just think he needs to be read the riot act that the current activity level hasn’t and isn’t acceptable. There won’t be a third chance.

I am fairly certain he does. This is one of my best friends in real life, he just doesn't have many brown friends who like hockey like me and so it's hard for us to start a league on our own and I completely forgot we're always looking for replacements.

I think that's a very valid/salient/astute point and I would support that should empee and you put it to a vote. It's just not fair to ask of a new person - or any person.

Contract or reinstate the picks? I know everyone is clamouring for Ottawa senators dispersal, but my preference is to stay at 16 GMs.

It's a very interesting idea, but how on earth would you re-instate the picks without de-valuing those of others?

Not that I mind sacrificing for the greater good (of course), but others may have some of maw's picks that would be affected - including high ones.

We seem to have a new GM on the line...

We need to discuss reinstating a few draft picks for the new GM.

Thinking about giving them pick 9 (just after half of the 16 picks per round) in the first three rounds for the next two years. The picks will not be tradeable and if the GM has or gains a pick in one of these rounds through trade or otherwise this pick disappears. Thoughts?

I like giving them the picks but maybe not the rule of if they gain another through trade that it disappears. This would disincentivize trading/tanking/rebuilding and I think make their experience a little more stale.

My thinking is that MAW traded those picks for assets, so offloading those assets would reinstate those picks. Now MAW might not have gotten fair value in his trades, hence giving him these bonus picks.

Still open to suggestions.

I think the 9th pick etc. is a fair and decent idea. However, I'm not sure I like the disappearing pick concept. If they can add more picks through trade, good on 'em.

That said, it kind of depends on which team we are giving them or if we are collapsing Maugh's garbage heap (and one other team maybe?) and letting them build from scratch.

Still, happy to hear there is a new GM in the wings. I don't suppose his name is Dwayne, is it?

Seems the disappearing picks isn't popular. What if the picks slide? If we give a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in 2023 and 2024. If he acquires say a 2nd in 2023, the bonus 2nd goes to 2025? Which is also void of picks?

Are we ok with the bonus picks being untradeable? I put this in because it could get hairy trying to keep track of these phantom picks outside of Fantrax.
