How many prospects you guys have this year in the WJCs?

I've only got two: Chibrikov (RUS), Garand (CAN). I drafted Niemela but traded him for something last year I think.

I looked up the Niemela trade. It was with Blow Gun - and a big one.

I traded:

Niemela
Niederbach
Rasmus Anderson
Craig Smith
2023 5th Round pick

I received

Connor Brown
Matt Grylczk
Chandler Stephenson
2024 3rd Round pick

I think it was a wash. He got two good prospects. I got Stephenson, who has 30 pts in 30 GP this year. I dropped the other two.

I'm a big Johnson fan from what I've seen. I really wish we had more pre-tourney games for these guys to sort out their lines, but I guess everyone's in the same boat.

with his all-star game appearance, jordan kyrou has officially graduated from prospect to star. 37 pts in 33 games. 2.8M cap hit through next season.

Pretty weird yet again to have the numer uno tender at the WJs. That said, I drafted Wallstedt in the orignal draft. He was fantastic. His team was weak.

USA coach Nate Leaman couldn't have said it better about Simon Edvinsson, the 6-foot-6 hulking blueliner from Sweden. He was drafted sixth overall by Detroit in 2021, and with Calder Trophy Winner Moritz Seider already in the lineup, he's not far from giving the Red Wings one of the most feared 1-2 defensive duos in the NHL.

Edvinsson signed his NHL entry contract back in April, and all signs point towards the big blueliner playing a key role on the team's blueline this season. So it was especially interesting that he chose to play for Sweden's junior team during the unusual summer world junior tournament because while many other NHL-bound players decided to skip out -- Shane Wright, Simon Nemec, Juraj Slafkovsky, Owen Power and Cole Perfetti come to mind -- Edvinsson saw value in heading back and representing his country. Sweden holds a perfect record through two games and is one of the favorites to win gold.
