Draft Date and Time

Post #1 by sLapshot » Tue Aug 19, 2014 8:20 pm

Thoughts?

As Terry alluded to in his email, I've complicated the picture somewhat. My wedding is on Sunday Sept 28th and three of you will be in attendance. So that night isn't ideal but it's not the end of the world either if 4 of us can't make it.

I'm pushing for the 20th or 21st in the Superleague draft (only mentioning because there's a lot of crossover and obviously we can't have both drafts at the exact same time).

We could do a board draft again.

I would prefer a live draft, but if everyone else wants a board draft that's fine

We generally have between 1 and 4 people missing for the live drafts each year, so I think we should shy away from a board draft unless it seems like more than that many people can't make it.

The 27th probably works for this pool. I can't promise I can make it but I'm sure the poor saps I'm dragging to my wedding the next night can.

I can do sept 27 or even 28 but not too late as I have to be up early the next morning. Like 7pm? 8pm?

I can't draft on the 14th (elton john) or the 27th (other draft) 28th (filming sex tape) or Oct 5th (other draft)

All other days I'm free

Alternately I can do those days except the 27th if the draft is in the afternoon, or I can draft on the 27th in the evening

I'm cool with whatever. If it's a board draft, it should start sooner, no? Because it'll take forever.

I'd like to point out that some of us have lives and have better things to do than wait around all weekend for a draft that would work better over the course of a week.

OK, so I work and I don't know what the fuck will be going on then. Whatever. Point remains. ESAD.

We should only work to satisfy the people who bother to post their availability.

As I said on FB, I'm moving back to the city next weekend and start a new gig shortly afterward so I don't really know what my availability looks like at the moment. Looking over the schedule for my next job though, I'll be calling games on the 19th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 28th. Those are all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So I guess what works for me is any weeknight in the early evening, say around 7 or 8.

Because then we can get really drunk while we draft

Only weekend that doesn't work for me is Sep 12-14

also Saturday 27th I could potentially be flying back from Tdot

Other times could potentially not work because I don't have my hockey schedules yet, but if we can pick a date and time now I will be able to start figuring out conflicts.

Very open to forum draft as well, but we should get that started. I actually like that idea the most as it gives more time to think about picks

I thought we all thought it was a good idea to have the draft on a weeknight...? That's a gameday for me, but I might still be able to make it work.

Maybe a thread for everyone to list keepers and nonkeepers?

I would make it but on my phone and it's acting funny.

Five teams didn't select keepers. I think this league may be in its death throes.

I'm hoping it's just the time of the year. It still feels early for hockey pool stuff, even though it's only a few more weekends until we're right at the start of everything happening.

I'm still 100% committed to this, just catching me at a bad time with me being distracted with wedding stuff etc.

I'd imagine we're going to run into more keeper problems as Czerkawski is currently ownerless.

And where the hell are the WSM duo?

Czerkawski is owned by Derek aka deek.

WSM just set their keepers. I bugged him about it on facebook.

If he doesn't sign up by then, put his team back into the draft
