Do any of you code or work on websites?

Do any of you code or work on websites?

Post #1 by Dr_Chimera » Sat Nov 24, 2018 6:57 pm

I need some help figuring out how to embed some stuff from twitter on a website. Let me know if you can help, here or via PM.

Thanks.

Most web building sites allow you to just copy and paste the Tweet like onto here. It sounds too good to be true, but try it if you haven't.

PM me if you are having problems still, I'll try.

No, something more complex than this. An entire twitter thread in fact.

It's Wordpress. I don't think Twitter allows the embedding of entire threads, which is why I have been looking for a creative solution.

You copy the time stamp link address of the second tweet and when you paste it, that should show both the first and second.

So you continue to copy and paste every other one down until the thread is over. Wordpress should allow you to do that if its not hyperlinked.

Ya, that also looks awful. But I suspected that there was no other option.

The way he says widgets is extremely annoying. Once I get over this I will watch the whole video.

I don't think there is another option, buddy. You can change the dimensions of the tweets, but that would take a long time with a thread.

If you want a widget for a feed I think it has to be your personal Twitter account.

WordPress's visual editor makes things simple, so you should be able to do it, but it might not look as clean as you want.

Embedding a feed is easy. A thread, not so much.

Just use [tweet]link[/tweet] so it just shows each Tweet individually. Are you trying to avoid the automatic display of the first tweet when embedding a thread?

WordPress is the worse app I've ever used. Just saying.
