Ok my move to Ubuntu has lead to my football manager game crashing every 15 minutes or so. So looks like time to start planning for a new computer, best time to buy parts still around Black Friday?

Why would you move to Ubuntu?

You've basically cut off approximately 75% of programs you could have used on Windows. Just uninstall it and reinstall Windows 10 rather than buying new parts towards a second computer.

Sure, it'll run like a champ on a computer that's 6 years old.
