The television seems more interested in reporting social media's reaction to the news than the actual historic/monumental news itself.

Probably figure (and rightly so) that most people are too stupid to wrap their heads around how water flows when it's -23 c.
Now if they could show YouTube videos of Martians throwing cups of boiling water in the air it would be a different story.
