Tablets
Say you wanted to forego having a laptop.
Maybe keep one desktop with a server for important files, and then have your team (3 people) work exclusively mobile with tablets.
Which tablet would you choose?
Surface Pro 3?

Re: Tablets
A team full of lawyers? People who need to use word processors a lot? I guess Surface, yeah.
But why even make the leap to tablets? Laptops are cheaper than surfaces.

This whole idea that we are even important is a fucking illusion. We’re just an accident left to our own devices.

We're often in planes or trains and shit and laptops aren't super practical.
Fine. Recommend me some ultra carry-friendly laptops.

For a lawyer? Just get the standard ugly sack of crap Lenovo. You don't want to stand out, do you?

Re: Tablets
If everything's on a central server, it really shouldn't matter which tablet, since it would just be acting as a thin client. Check what app/software is available for each that would suit your needs.

Check out ultrabooks. That's the brand segment for what you're looking at. They're the PC equivalent of macbook air laptops. Super slim and light.
I think we bought Toshiba ultrabooks last year.

Re: Tablets
If my lawyer pulled out a tablet in a meeting and started taking notes on it, I think I would look for a new lawyer.

Notes? in a meeting? Type?

Re: Tablets
Do you have people set up to go with you when you are ready? (admin, clerks, etc.) or are you thinking of going it completely alone?

Re: Tablets
We're switching from laptops to surface pros here (save on gym memberships).
Hope this helps.

Nothing beats an iPad for usability. My son has a Kindle Fire HDX which is also nice..just not as nice as an iPad.

In practise any modern Android tablet scores on par with the apples for usability. Just get something cheap.

I bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab E for her birthday.
Great price point to usability ratio. Doesn't convert into a business tablet or anything like that, so really just a toy.
