Watching cross-country was surprisingly entertaining. Slow burn, then gets tense at the end.

Subtract the bobsleigh medals as well. Coached by Pierre Lueders.

So as we all know the only sports that matter are curling and hockey, so the official medal count is:

1. Canada 4G
2. Who gives a fuck: Bow down before your benevolent overlords and bask in our humble magnificence.

Upon reflection of the cross-country results, I have determined that it is ridiculously impossible for Russia to sweep that event, so they were all probably doping. Urine samples will be mysteriously "lost".

I wonder if doping techs are fans too ? Do they keep the samples ? Is there a black market ? Do they trade a clean Crosby for a murky Morrisson ?

Just remember, out here if you say 'tar sands' instead of oil sands, you may as well just castrate yourself before the good corporate citizens do.

Soviet Union dominates games with 40+ medals and a 12-0 drubbing of Canada in the men's hockey final. A truly glorious finish to these Olympics. Just as predicted.

I just heard some radio while putting on coffee for my lovely wife, a thankless task that leaves me hoping for a better afterlife, and an espn guy was whining about how US wasn't very good at spots played before the last 20 years. That kind of goes with our get rid of fringe sports schtick, but honestly, shouldn't you want to excel in the events that your nation's young people embrace ? I hear about kids wanting to snowboarding more than I do cross country skiing 50KM's.

I chugged a few down with Pierre a couple years back. First beer that ever made me sleepy. I really don't remember much after that, to be honest.

Of course all these punk kids like sports with little effort.

Slopeside? Hell, the slope does all the work. For fucks sake. It naturally brings the "athletes" down from the top of the mountain. The slope should be getting the medal. Or maybe the guy in the machine that taps the snow.

No not for me. Give me a 100kms of grueling cardio uphill while shooting at tiny moving targets! Or that one where the guys have to sweep and mop the ice until it sparkles.

That'a real atheltics worthy of olympic gold!

And so ends another wonderful Games of the Winter Olympiad.

There's a dream that lives
Deep in every heart
Heroes carve their name
Legends leave their mark
And it's worth the sweat
And it's worth the pain
But the chance may never come again

Give it all you got
Take your best shot
The fire burns deep inside
Stand above the giants
Yeah!

For the game belongs
To the swift and the strong
Though the flame burns bright
In an instant it's gone
It's the spirit of the game
And the legend lives on and on

But the chance may never come again
No, no
The chance may never come...
