Yeah... I'm not seeing it. I've driven through North Bay. That was enough. The place sounds great on TV, despite it looking like they're playing in a cave.

TV doesn't do it enough justice. Not nearly enough. What they've done is put the spotlight directly on the players, so they really stand out on the ice.

There are parts of downtown Guelph I really like, and while the rink is cookie cutter, I enjoy watching games there. I like the openness of the place, where you can see the ice surface while you're waiting in line for food/drink.

Yeah, all the newer rinks I've been in are built that way (Kingston, Guelph, & Sault)

LOL - can you say "desperation"?

The London Knights have hired on Danny Dupont as a guest coach and advisor leading up to the Memorial Cup. Why is this important? Dupont was an assistant coach with Shawinigan in 2012. ‪‬

I feel like Oshawa should have done something similar in their series against North Bay. Consult Williamson on how to handle Butler teams. They had no clue.

Is it me, or was that the most boring OHL final game in history? The Storm let the Battalion dictate the pace and played Butler hockey.

I can't imagine Walker isn't going to make adjustments - at least I hope so.

That's what Stan do. Guelph overcame this time. They don't make adjustments though and this will go long.

We have ourselves a series, and Guelph fans are a little nervous. Not sure why they figured they'd breeze through the finals.

Because the West is too self important to care about the East. North Bay is 8-1 at home this season and have seen the best of the East in Oshawa and Barrie while overcoming great adversity (3-1 series deficit against a team and a man they had little success against before) I honestly think that the Battalion could win the whole thing now.

If you look at the history in the past 10 or 15 years, the west has overwhelming been better than the east. In most of those years, the conference final was far more competitive than the championship series as well. That appears to have changed this year, and the league is better for it. Guelph has toppled some very good teams on their way to the finals, so i'm not counting them out just yet.

But Guelph until now hasn't faced any adversity. Lets see how they respond to it. If they can beat up North Bay at the Gardens, I'll be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to OT again a few more times.

That one came right out of left field. He won't be unemployed long, and Oshawa will have a challenge finding someone as good to take the reins, unless PD decides to rejoin the OHL.

Death, taxes, Kingston doing something stupid... I think they're still trying to rope in old Leafs fans to cheer for the Fronts.

Oates? I doubt it. I thought maybe Graves. Anyway, seems like owner meddling may have caused this. Rumors that maybe Kitchener will have a long look at Jeff.

North Bay was 30 seconds away from a 2-1 series lead, gave up two goals in 20 to lose 4-3. That's it, they're finished.

That's a tough one to come back from, but NB has enough strong veterans that they might. Guelph has to be feeling really good about themselves.

The NB announcers are fucking crap though. I won't be sorry to not hear them again.

It's possible, but I can't see it unless Hiebert wants to step down. He's only been in the job a year, and has another year on his contract.

From what I understand, this wouldn't be the first person Rocco ran off.

The camera man was equally as bad. I understand its an older arena layout but the camera view would be in one end and the play in the opposite.

I'm looking forward to the Memorial Cup, when Sportsnet has to mention time and time again that London is the host team, but didn't win the OHL title.

Sorry to VCX this thread.

Anyone have any insight as to what Anthony DeAngelo did to get suspended twice in a season?
