All Purpose NHL Thread 3
Gotta start pruning the trees again.
In reference to Salo hurting himself playing whiffleball.SopelFan wrote:This is up there on his on his list of 40 injuries with the snake bite and the busted nut.

Right, but Briere was so bad in Philly and Montreal that I think he plays wing exclusively now. There are better UFA options available. I don't think the Avs are hurting at centre either with Duchene and O'Reilly...
In any case, lol @ Kesler -> Bonino

Ernie wrote:For my money, Niskanen is the worst contract of the day. He has ONE good season piling up PP points with Malkin and Crosby.
Niskanen might be a decent acquisition. He's posted great possession numbers relative to the rest of his team year after year. Washington will probably be disappointed when he doesn't produce points but I think he's not bad in controlling play.

Of course they are. Instead of spending money on the people they just bought up the rights, it doesn't matter who the talking heads are anymore because they have no competition. Glenn Healy forever!

They all re-upped long term within a few weeks after the rights announcement, if I recall. That was the window if they were going to poach talent.
I don't get the feeling Sportsnet values that kind of analyst, though.

Indeed, I think they're quite the fan of talking heads in the style of a talk show host who pisses people off and drives page views.

AV deployed Schroeder in such a way that his strengths with the puck outweighed his physical weakness, I'm still not gonna say otherwise. I never said he was going to be a star, just that he could be productive at the NHL level. Two years ago, that certainly looked like the case. He was horrible last year of course, but so was everyone.
