Web hosting
I'm thinkin' about doing one of them there blog things and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about who to host it with.
Right now I'm thinkin' about SiteGround. Pretty cheap to start and they'll throw in the domain name.

But I might do a second blog that just points out stupidity on boredz.
The popular topics on this place range from finance to home improvement to beer to politics to movies and TV shows. I'm curious what falls so far outside of our gamut.

It limits the capabilities if you go with their free version and their pay version is more expensive than others.

I think I'm going with shared hosting for now. It's cheaper and that's the key point until I determine how things are going forward.
I used Namecheap in the past and would continue to use them.

Been with hostmonster for over a decade and never had an issue. Perfect starter hosting.
For anything grey area, KnownSRV. You can talk to owner Kruno directly over at WJunction. Extremely nice guy who knows his shit.
Good luck.

WordPress for now because it seems ubiquitous. I don't really care because I can figure out any of them. But WP would probably have the most documentation and options.
Right now I'm leaning towards CrocWeb instead of SiteGround. Good prices, good reviews and it is Canadian.

Shared hosting looks like your best bet. Your options will be an FTP or SSH installation of Wordpress or a pre-packaged Wordpress installation that some hosts provide.

I'm always asked for hosting recommendations.
Oh, I googled CrocWeb with other hosting provider names and the forums that came up provided better feedback for CrocWeb. There were also recommendations on RedFlagDeals. The prices are great and I like the ability to host multiple domains on an entry level account, which is not something all hosts provide on entry level accounts. It cost under $2 US/month before tax.
At the price, I figure if they are completely unsuitable I can easily change to someone else.
