How is Speirs not your favourite Band of Brothers character?

He could only be in the 2 episodes based around Bastogne/Foy and he'd probably still be my favourite character.

lmao wow
Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, of the Dallas Stars, tapped into what comes off as a similar form of bullying at the end of a long interview on something called the Bob and Dan show.
From what I can tell, the interview was taken off the web site after some of Canuck twitter heard it and demanded apologies from Benn and Seguin. Not sure on that. But it was here.
In the late stages of the interview, the topic turned to rooming on the road. Benn and his brother play on the same team but he explains they get separate rooms.
A host says he thinks the Sedins stay together still, and Benn follows that line up stating:
“Who knows what else they do together?”
Not a great moment. Jokes follow, as the hosts claim the way the Sedins cut their hair and present themselves are examples of what brothers should never do.
And Seguin, in loose Seguin fashion, concludes it with this:
“They’re odd as shit.”
Sure if odd is mature, responsible, accountable, upstanding community members who love their team and city equally, while going through life respecting every person they encounter.
Yes, if that’s your definition odd, then they are as odd as shit.

here's torts on the radio with some comments about last year. kinda sounds like the same old torts to me. talks real good, but it's all bullshit. that bit at the end where he talks about missing being in the room where he talks to players especially: didn't talk to burrows until december, was absent at morning skates. he didn't deserve to be fired for just bombing the second half, he should've been fired for just not doing his job.

Good article on Tanev's next contract.
http://canucksarmy.com/2015/2/16/what-should-chris-tanev-s-next-contract-look-like
IMO, Canucks probably going to pay a lot extra simply because Benning had no idea what he was inheriting.
In another tweet, Drance said in researching that article, he thinks Tanev is a top 30 D. I had a few people call me crazy for saying I don't trade Tanev for Kane straight up, let alone the rumoured package. Tanev is already top pairing, getting better, and will never command huge payday without the offence. Meanwhile Kane is full of risk: injury, chemistry, recent production etc. I wanted Kane, but only in a risk for risk deal (ie picks and prospects).

I'm not sure I would trade Tanev for anyone other than a star player, and for some of them I would take pause. Amazing that people even considered trading him for the 1st overall pick with the knowledge that the Canucks were probably going to take Reinhart (in hindsight, Ekblad has far exceeded expectations). He just makes everybody better.

Ryan was a member of the Silver medal winning US Men's Hockey Team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. He was named MVP of the tournament.

Jim Benning on Team 1040 today, admitted Kassian was 'real good' the last 5-6 games, but wasn't 'particularly good' against Wild, so he's benched. Imagine if they held that standard against literally any other player on the team.
Said he's talked to few teams "about Zack" and not worried about benching him hurting his trade value. Said he knows he's a rare combination of size and skill and he's a young player and basically a work in progress.
He also said he just got out of a meeting with Tanev's agent and hinted that it was going to get done, but then backed off a bit saying they aren't that close.

Shouldn't talking about scratches etc be left to the coach?
If the coach was the one making the decisions...
LOOK I CAN BE CAO TOO!

Killface wrote:If it was his decision to quit on the team they could have just voided his contact couldn't they? So is it Utica that doesn't want him due to the AHL veteran limit or some other reason?
Probably wasn't his decision.

Benning calling draft picks "gold" in the same breath as confirming they won't trade any of the pending UFAs is shitty. This is a year where every one is overpaying and loading up with average players, and the team's youth has stepped up, but he doesn't want to sell anything? They have a logjam of tweeners that are going to be too expensive to re-sign.
