Like if I'm downtown I'll probably go get Megabite or Romano's but I'm not gonna avoid satisfying my hypothetical craving for pizza if the only place around is Fresh Slice.

Uncle Fatih's. Best pizza in the city, IMO. They've branched out to a few new locations as well, on Broadway/Macdonald in Kits and in Carrall, near GM Place. That's top drawer outside of something like Nicli Antica.

Romano's is good too. If I'm ordering a pizza to eat at home I'll go with Papa John's, it's very cheap and relatively good. Fresh Slice used to be dece but as it's expanded its grasp over the city, the quality has gone to hell. I used to like going there, now it makes me hate my life.

The thing with Pete Rose is that the rules and the penalties were very clear at the time he was doing it and he did it anyways. It's not the same as steroids where the rules were kinda there but nobody really cared about them and were just sticking their head in the sand like the NFL today. Everyone in Pete Rose's day KNEW that the consequence of gambling on the game was a lifetime ban. Whether you agree or not (and there are many ways it can fuck up the integrity of the game even if you bet on yourself,) It was a very clear black/white rule that he broke in full cognizance of knowing what the penalty was. So I don't agree with dismissing it just because he's Pete Rose so the rules shouldn't apply to him.

I watched one episode and it was about some bar that was famous for shooting a porno in the bar with customers around. Taffer was, uh, unimpressed....and then he walked in and saw that the couch where it was done was still in the bar ......... priceless.

And yeah, He turned the bar into this weird motif with some guys face added to famous photos, and every review on google is like, "I used to like having a drink here but now it sucks, and what's with all those creepy pictures? It's disturbing." Hahahaha.

Oh yeah, I strongly recommend Googling the bar after every episode and seeing if it's gone out of business. It's a really nice capper to every single one, as most of them are shuttered lol.

And the difference between me and Jim Benning is that I will pick up Danilo Gallinari with the intention of keeping him on my IR all season as a good luck charm, maybe only slotting him in for one week of the schedule, and it costs me like $3 to scoop him up. I'm not blowing my entire budget banking on him to be a contributor, I have other guys for that.

that definitely sounds like the logic benning used when he re-signed linden vey, or even derek dorsett because "intangibles" seem to be a good parallel for a good luck charm

The bar rescue episode I watched was this Irish bar in Wisconsin where the bartender would just drink while on the job, but he was never fired because he's best friends with the owner. And it's still open but all the yelp reviews were like "It's a good bar now but guppy [the bartender] is still an asshole".

My team last year was fucking ridiculous: I had Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Bradley Beal, Jonas Valanciunas, Brook Lopez, Kevin Martin, Arron Afflalo, Enes Kanter and Danilo Gallinari. I lost in the Finals because Russell has 10 giveaways in one game (live by the Westbrook, die by the Westbrook).

Beal, Valanciunas and Gallinari have been on my team for three years in a row and if I'd won the championship I would be free to cut them loose, but now I've gotta bring them back again and go on another run.
