At least it worked out for the Oilers.

Sometimes guys think they can go on talent alone. At least he realized that he needs to do more. Hopefully that means a better, well rounded player this year.

He wouldn't get on the ice until August? Jesus Christ what happened to the "indictment on me as a hockey player" attitude re: the trade

I'm like dumbfounded by the whole thing. That's literally bare minimum. He's the Andrew Gross of hockey players.

You figure he's done first week in April every year so that's 4+ months of not being in hockey shape. That's embarrassing. Meanwhile your have a 45 year old Jagr taking a couple weeks off to slam some 18 year old models and then going to work the rest of the way.

I always assumed most guys that aren't deep in the playoffs take a month off or so and get back on the ice in June.

I want the guy to be good, but that's wild to me

Seattle definitely makes sense. Their support for the Seahawks is great and aren't Sounders games well-attended?

You see guys like McDavid posting workout stuff all summer. Hischier said he was right back on the ice after getting to Switzerland. Henrique and Palmieri are here all summer. Hall just strikes me as a bro that would rather go to country concerts all offseason.

I would do the same thing (sans the shitty country music) so it's hard to knock him. At least he's switched it up now. Hopefully it pays dividends on the ice.

But anyway, glad he changed it up and I'm sure it'll show

Both of those jerseys are hideous and because they're now "retro" doesn't mean a team should wear them. I hate when teams do that just because.

No, I'd have just told him to stop being a cheapskate and pony up the dough for or just save his money given the state of the team.

I can do one in two minutes:

-Severson, Greene, Lovejoy and Moore are the only locks on defense - who out of Mueller, Santini, Butcher and Prout will win the other two spots?
-There appear to be two spots open at forward - will Jimmy Hayes claim one or will they go to two of Quenneville, McLeod and Speers? Can someone like Pietila play himself into the convo?
-The Center issue - will the team try Zacha at center again or will Hischier be forced into top six time right away?

That's pretty much it

Make it shine a little more with the question of whether Schneider rebounds this season, and beef up the defence discussion, going into the d-men (lack of) depth. And yup, you're good to go.

Click (bait) away.

Taylor Hall, W, New Jersey Devils: No three-point games anymore. I think it would make it more exciting. You look at the standings and you're like, 'Oh, so-and-so is .500.' But they're really not. They're 13-13-6, but they're really 13-19. I think it would make a big difference.

preach, Tay

also, lol:

Tanner Pearson, W, Los Angeles Kings: Escrow. Oh, yeah. We pay a percentage to help teams that aren't doing so well to pay for their salaries. Maybe not eliminate it, but just lower it.

better solution:
pay players a base salary, which increases based on seniority in the league (to a certain maximum base salary ... say $2 million) and then pay the rest based on results (team results: wins, making playoffs, etc; player result: goals, assists, toi, save%, etc.)
