I'm not saying he's as good as Trout, because Trout is plus speed, plus defense. But yeeesh. .388, that's an insane number. June 2nd gives him another month down there, if he's around .350 by then, he has to be in Toronto.

Yeah... no
He's hitting .388 against competition older than him by five years. He'll be up by June 2nd at the latest.
I guarantee he will not be up before September unless the Jays can ink him to a deal that buys out his arbitration years. Shapiro and Atkins are way too smart to waste a year of service time on a teenage DH. That is just terrible asset management.

Trout was in the minors at the same age you stupid ass. He is also the best player of this generation and wasn't blocked in the OF.

That is exactly why you dont call him up. It would start his service time a year early, and at his age and postition (DH) there just isn't enough upside to justify it. The smart play is to bring him up next year as a 3B in May with Bichette.

There have been PLENTY of players to play at the age of 19. Do what is best for the team, he could get hurt in five years and then who cares about that shit. You're dumb, and so are Shatkins.

Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Julio Urias.
July 8th, April 28th and May 27th respectively.
In our time, Ken Griffey Jr., A-Rod, Beltre, Andruw Jones, Ivan Rodriguez and in my time Doc Gooden.
Harper won a ROY as a 19 year old.
You make it sound as if there has never been 19 year olds to debut before September
You'll whine and bitch to me about how those are generational talents. Guess what? So is Vlad Jr.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
I literally gave you a list of 10 people. You pigeonholed it to 10 years and then said I gave two examples when I gave three. Vlad Jr has had a 24 game spell better than Trout ever did at AA while being younger.
when Trout was 19 years and 10 months he went .365 with a .445 OBP a .625 SLG and a 1.070 OPS.
Vlad 's slash line at 19 years two months he has gone .388, .452 OBP .624 SLG and a 1.075 OPS. He's 8 months younger and better in BA, OBP, slightly off in SLG and slightly better OPS.
Bring him up, give him a few games, the Angels gave Trout 40 games, he struck out 30 times and only hit .220 before they ended the experiment. Vladdy Jr. has earned a cup of coffee.

LOL at calling a ten year sample pigeon holing. Any other sample would be irrelevant because the rules for arbitration and player control were different. Furthermore, this has nothing to do with Vlad not being good enough, it's weighing the value of a 19 year old Vlad vs a 27 year old Vlad in his prime. If you bring him up now you are trading those two seasons for one another, and you risk seriously stunting his defensive development. I don't see the point personally, maybe if the Jays continue to contend for a playoff spot you can argue that he adds high leverage wins *shrugs*.

Stephen Brunt already working on the redemption story.
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

That bat speed.
Badler also put up a scouting report on him: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories ... ters-ever/
That’s what I have to keep reminding myself when I watch Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He’s already a complete hitter—major league ready now with the bat—and one of the best teenage hitters ever.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
We have a hall of famer in the minors. If they send him to Buffalo before calling him up, time for a roadie to a Bisons game.
Bichette on the other hand is finally struggling a bit, his average is .276, OBP of .353, .403 SLG and a .756 OPS. They don't track BABIP or things like that, so I have no idea if he's unlucky or it's just catching up to him.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
Bichette has made maassive strides with his glove, and given his age and that this is his first go around at AA those are actually very good numbers. Plus a SS doesn't need to be a great hitter to provide value, though I fully expect him to be a great hitter in time. Biggio has been the biggest surprise, he may be a prospect yet.

I'm not saying he's bad or anything, just that his average has come down, but the OBP is still encouraging relative to the AVG. But I read that he's doing well defensively, so that is good. I'm really excited for the two boys.
Speaking of Vladdy

Opposite field, more than 350 feet lol
Also:
He’s now struck out three times in 51 plate appearances this month. He’s hit more home runs (four) over that span.
LOL
Defense needs a little work:

But this was a decent play helped on by the first bagger

On the season, Guerrero has only five errors in just over 250 innings. By most accounts, his defence is vastly improved from where it was when he started playing third base in rookie ball. But, like most young players, he’s still working on his mental approach.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
I have no problem leaving him in the minors to work on his defense. Who knows how the season is going to progress, though. By the deadline they look like they don’t have a chance, JD gets traded and Vladdy is brought up. It doesn’t hurt to leave him in the minors instead of wasting a contract season.

That's the worst analogy ever. He doesn't have to give a shit about the Jays or really care all that much about Canadian players but no need to take a shit on your own country. He was lucky enough to grow up somewhere that he even had the privilege to play baseball and actually get scouted.
He ended up apologizing now anyways and claims it was out of jealousy so there's that.

Well you can tell he was half 'murican by his original statement. A true blooded Canadian would have been overly nice and would make sure to sound thankful for his early steps into the game.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
There's some thought out there that he'll get a AAA promotion by tomorrow. I don't see it, more likely June and at best a September call-up here, or a post deadline addition once they move Donaldson which I think they'll do in short order.

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread
Even if they do move JD (let's say mid june), I'd wager Vlad gets an mlb cup of tea around late august/sept.
With a prospect that has his skillset, I don't believe a move to AAA is of much value to anyone considering it will likely be a few months if that.

September is my bet. I just dont think the Jays are good enough to warrant forfeiting that age 26 season. If they go on an extended run than you can justify it as adding high leverage wins.
