Wholeheartedly recommend the documentary "Gilbert" about comedian Gilbert Gottfried. This one is a lot of fun.

I'm a big fan of his podcast, but I think the film will please even those who don't know anything about the guy.

Justice league was surprisingly bad. Worse than BvS. Even the effects felt cheap and shoddy.

I rate it just above BvS, mostly because the terrible Lex isn't there, and the characters seem to be somewhat similar to their canonical versions, instead of the unrecognizable goofs shown previously. I am convinced that Snyder does not understand how people function with other people, and how groups work.

I love the role model. But the movie was so hammy. Couldn't get passed the first 30 minutes.

Like I get portraying WW2 germans as 'evil'. But how you portray any protagonist in ww1 as good or evil is disturbing.

I thought the movie did a good job of addressing the point you raised, but the important parts of that happen later in the movie.

Definitely my favourite DC movie, and in my top 5 across both cinematic universes.

Are there any alternatives to IMDb out there now? The forum is long gone, the goofs sections are gone, you can't even sort episodes by rating anymore. Image

I watched most of the Jumanji remake last night, as I was exhausted and sick and wanted something mindless and fun to distract me before bed. I was pleasantly surprised, it's very well done.

I didn't anticipate for The Meg to be so godawful bad. Surely a movie with Jason Statham and a shark would deliver some harmless b-movie fun?

But it's a lot like Skyscraper. Extremely boring product made largely for the Chinese market with market research-driven compromises to appeal to different age groups and nationalities -- a sure recipe for disaster. You end up with no tension, no gore and not a single decent one-liner.

Movies like these are basically made by algorithms, not people.

Maybe living in Kingston has turned me into a racist, but Black Panther was a terrible movie. It was like they took the characters from Coming to America mixed with a corny 1980 superhero plot, and added a few bits stolen from James Bond.

If you didn't feel your soul shake with the egalitarian, anti-racist and anti-sexist message of the movie, then you're probably a racist misogynistic prick.

I thought Black Panther was alright. Not as good as the hype, but pretty much in line with what you should expect from non-Avengers MCU movies.

Green Book

So I initially wanted to watch this film because there's a score I've been trying to confirm the title of, and this film supposedly had it. Well I ended up watching one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Viggo with a brilliant performance, the picture is beautiful, the music exquisite. The movie exposes political topics, but doesn't try to be more than what it is, which I can appreciate in this age of wokeness hysteria. Kind of a christmas movie, heart-warming ending.

9/10 would watch again.

Once upon a time in Hollywood 7.5/10

Back in 2012, my best bud used to live right on the street where Leo DiCaprio's character lived, and I stayed for 3 months in Van Nuys/Burbank, where Brad Pitt's character lived. Just because of that I loved the movie.

Dialogue heavy, Hollywood references of the late 60s that I didn't fully grasp, a lack of tension leading to the ending, but still just dynamic enough.

Movie is not really plot driven, seems more like a bunch of moments where you really get attached to the characters. But the ending still lands.

Dave Chappelle's new standup special is really bad. It's just boring and very few jokes land.

I'm beginning to think that the purported outrage over the special's edginess is manufactured by Netflix. There is nothing outrageous about any of the material, at least not any more than what one gets in a typical standup. Louis CK did much wilder stuff.

The Jussie Smollett bit was completely humorless and embarrassing. It didn't even make sense.

Ironically the best part was easily the Michael Jackson material. But even these kidfucking jokes are way below par.

I recently saw and really liked both Uncut Gems and Richard Jewell. Eastwood makes crap sometimes, but this was one of his better efforts.

Tried watching Ford v. Ferrari, but just couldn't bear it anymore after that scene with Matt Damon and thin Batman fighting on the lawn. Just horrendous.
