I think it's funny that certain cultures still find personal insults and swearing deeply hurtful. In American and Canadian cultures, everything is so wrapped up in multiple layers of irony that the opposite has become true. If you want to look foolish then it's a good idea to go on a big tirade and look like an idiot while making the person you're insulting look good in comparison.

Some European cultures are still this way too. I remember watching soccer a while back and one of the players insulted another's mother and the guy looked so upset. But if someone did that to me I'd probably laugh my ass off.

Are you just referencing Materazzi and Zidane and the headbutt? I think that was his sister.

Yeah, Nick. Soros is too worried about making sure this Iran war goes down with The Koch Bros.

He don't care about Gergia.

The Western establishment press is tripping over itself "mourning" the death of Vladimir Kara-Murza, a Putin critic. But they don't seem to even realize which of the Kara-Murzas is dead, at first incorrectly reporting that it was the son (it was actually the father).

Image

They also like to make shit up, like this tweet about "suspicious circumstances," which isn't true. The man died after a long illness.

Anything to fuel those fires of war.

I also know Malcolm Nance personally. He was not a Russia expert, nor did he give a shit about Russia until it became profitable. He was all about jihadism.

In analysing these emails, this paper also forms part of a wider debate about how authoritarian states use freedom to undermine free or partially free societies.

This "debate" is of course framed very narrowly, because none of the Western countries are "authoritarian" or against "freedom." Authoritarian states are also never Israel or UAE, because they are Western allies.

The Russians may not be good guys, but at least they're not giving their money and weapons to people who are rehabilitating fascists.

Courts have let some opposition figures run who were previously barred. Some concession to protesters. The size of them is impressive. You see all walks of life, not just the local Moscow Hipsters. Im surprised Russia and China arent linking Hong Kong and Moscow protests as western interference, but I haven't been paying much attention, so maybe they have. it'll take a price I don't think people are willing to take yet to remove someone so entrenched as Vlad.

I don’t think anyone in Russia believes it is orchestrated from abroad. Russians are just less scared of protesting, they also don’t ask for regime change per say, just for more open and competitive political sphere.

Russians know that "regime change" will put the liberals back in charge and it will be like the 90s again.
