This is tough. Put me down for a boxed Orb-Revolutionary-It'smyluckyday-Normandy Invasion superfecta. Also trying to work in Goldencents and one I'm interested in lately to round out some exotics, Charming Kitten.

Your Winner: Mylute as my selection to win the 2014 Kentucky Derby. He ran a strong second to Revolutionary in the Louisiana Derby, just missing running that one down. He looks to be coming into form at the perfect time. Yes, he’s only two for nine in his career. Yes, he’s yet to win a graded stakes. And, yes, I know some people question is ability to get 1 ¼. I’m not buying that last concern at all, and recent years have proven that being the son of a champion sprinter is not a deterrent to winning the Derby whatsoever. I’ve studied his breeding thoroughly, and believe that the distance isn’t going to be a problem at all. In fact, I think he’s one of the best-suited horses for that distance, with a favorable running-style to match. Tom Amoss is a fantastic trainer, and would be a very popular winner on the Churchill backside. Rosie Napravnik is one of the hottest jockeys in the country, and is due to win a race of this stature. I think she will get that elusive win on Saturday night.

how badly do you hope these horse guys hope a horse doesn't snap a leg given all the stories in England and at the smaller tracks in the US?

I was listening to NPR the other day and they were talking about doping in horse racing and how it isn't allowed in europe compared to here. and how they give the horses a strong diuretic before the race that has them pissing all over the place and losing 10-20 lbs of weight. Afterwards they basically have to give them what equates to IV's in order to get fluids back into them. It basically becomes a vicious cycle. Seems rather ridiculous.

[CENTER][SIZE="7"]The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home
Tis summer, the darkies are gay
The corn top's ripe and the meadow's in bloom
While the birds make music all the day
The young folks roll on the little cabin floor
All merry, all happy and bright
By 'n by hard times come a-knocking at the door
Then my old Kentucky home good night

Weep no more, my lady
Oh, weep no more, today
We will sing one song for the old Kentucky home
For the old Kentucky home far away.

They hunt no more for the 'possum and the coon,
On meadow, the hill and the shore,
They sing no more by the glimmer of the moon,
On the bench by that old cabin door.
The day goes by like a shadow o'er the heart,
With sorrow where all was delight.
The time has come when the darkies have to part,
Then my old Kentucky home, good night.

The head must bow and the back will have to bend,
Wherever the poor folks may go
A few more days and the trouble will end,
In the field where sugar-canes may grow.
A few more days for to tote the weary load,
No matter, 'twill never be light
A few more days till we totter on the road,
Then my old Kentucky home, good night.

Rosie can suck it.

Tom Amoss says Mylute's tactics may change. Could be more forwardly placed. Rosie may ride a just behind the pace.

I don't think that's a good idea.

Doesn't have the kick Orb showed at the Derby, but with the lack of competition somebody has to give it a shot.

What type of idiotic name is Palace Malice? If the name was Callous Phallus I woulda made a bundle as it would do homage to 98 percent of the posters at Broads.

It's been all Javier Castellano at the Spa this year. He'll ride the [1] Romansh to the win in the Travers.

Put my $25 on Gray Magician instead of Country House :why:
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.
