On the topic of kids starring in TV series, I'm halfway through The End of the F**cking World and enjoying it quite a bit.

I still watch it too even though it hasn't been remotely good for awhile now. I mean it was even sucking in the last two seasons with Carrel. I think the writers made Andy bad again to get him back for filming Hangover III instead of doing the Office. That's why for the first half of this season Andy was doing 1 minute cameos through skype.

I've always felt that dbag Andy was better than the nice guy character. But I agree its stupid to switch him back now since they built up his relationship with Erin for the past 3 or 4 seasons now.

I agree.

Watched it. It was okay. Could have been worse.

Like season 2 of Stranger Things worse.

I watched Dark (German fantasy / time travel drama). I thought it had some of the interesting parts of Stranger Things season 1, while remaining annoyingly German.

I like that most of the actors playing Russians are Russian - and some are even good. Except the uncle (a German?), who I suppose was chosen because the casting director felt at least one Russian has to be that fucking ugly.

This one got progressively worse, particularly the last two episodes. The lead actor (James Norton) is too wooden, which is not entirely his fault. The character is very badly written - there was supposed to be a Michael Corleone-style ark to him and they couldn't make it work.

I saw Norton in two others shows and he was good there. Played a psychopath in one and a priest in another. Maybe this role is too nuanced for him.

Also he doesn't look or act like a Russian.

Killing Eve went from very good to extremely bad and confusing through its eight episodes. Really wanted to like this one after a promising start and because of the mostly great cast.

The action-comedy becomes more and more of a parody and not in a way that appeals to me. Characters become too ridiculous, some are killed indiscriminately and the tone borders on nihilistic. It's also been said that this is basically a queer show so maybe I am not the ideal viewer.

Very English Scandal - Phoenix Buchanan resurfaces as a leader of the liberal party, has anal sex with Paddington, followed by a messy breakup, Paddington ratting him out to the MI5 and Buchanan putting out a hit on Paddington.

Actually got better after a bit of a pedestrian first episode. I like old Hugh Grant a lot.

My most anticipated series this year - Bodyguard - turns out to be a complete turkey. Too bad.

Really wanted to like it, but what a fucking mess.

Ah, thanks for saving me the time. It was on my list.

Have you watched The Shadow Line yet? I personally love it just for the characters. But, yeah, bit over-the-top. Actually, no. I love it. I'm a sucker for these kind of tense, moody cop shows. But the characters! Oh my god.

I finally got around to Ozark. Pretty good. The season 2 finale infuriated me. I suspect I'll end up bailing on this in season 3 like I did with breaking bad.

Next up is The Terror. Looks promising.

My favourite character in this show is a combination of Dr Steve Brule and a more visceral version of one of the Clockwork Orange boys.

Not backing off my earlier recommendation at all, but the more I think about it (finished the seven episodes now), it was more like a flamboyant theatre production than a cop show. Neither the cops nor the gangsters were realistic but were nonetheless compelling.

Reminded me of The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, Her Lover if you like that sort of thing. I do.

Doom Patrol draws from its source material so it's more than a little strange but I think it's well executed and entertaining as hell. Some great performances as well.

Line of Duty. Season 5 (eight episodes) has just gotten underway. AC12 is back busting up bent coppers. Poor Maneet: murdered off in the first hour.

Give it tine or dont.

Well, I gave it time and I have to say I've enjoyed S2 of Discovery a lot more than the first season.

Anson Mount and the writers have done an excellent job of rounding out Christopher Pike so he's more than just the guy from The Cage and The Menagerie. I was a bit undecided on Ethan Peck as Spock at first but I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was tasked with playing a broken Spock and that's a tough ask. I do wish a bit more time had been spent developing and rounding out the rest of the bridge crew of the Discovery as they're usually just kind of there.

Also, I'm hoping the work that went into the set for the bridge of the Enterprise is intended for use in more than just 1 or 2 episodes because it looks great.
