Sure. Mostly. Just not the old ladies. They are just like the old ladies from every other culture... overly involved in everyone's lives but their own.

It was mostly the last one. The dutch are cheap as fuck.

I worked for a dutch dairy farmer. I know.

My wife comes from the background. I'd say it's just the one specific old lady, but I have met enough of the elder generation to understand that most of their old ladies are busy bodies who can't help but feel that they can tell everyone how to live their lives.

i believe that was my point. old dutch ladies are like old ladies everywhere else and interfere with every aspect of other people's lives. and people (even dutch people) don't find it necessarily too rude because they allow it to happen.

I became friends with guy through work, I repped his company for awhile, I've been a supplier of and customer of his over the years. He calls me about 15 years ago, tells me that he has to give a little speech/toast at his niece's wedding. He says, 'you're better at this than I am, can you write something, work a few jokes in'. I told him I didn't really know who he'd be talking to, I'd met his niece... He said they were all Dutch, 'you know the Dutch...' No, I don't know the Dutch. Research told me to go with stubborn and cheap as themes and things would work out. I did, and things worked out, he got some laughs and the marriage has yielded 4 children.

I could be a Dutch stand up comic apparently, which is probably like being the best hockey player in Bolivia.

I only wish the people had quit during the meeting at the country house so we had pictures of ministers walking down a dirt road to get on a taxi. May knew what she was doing.
