Season's End Award Show (SEAS)

Hello, gentleman!

I meant to do this last year - and maybe I did and forgot in a drugged-out haze - but was much too slovenly in my preparatory and lobbying efforts.

In short, I would both appreciate and reward with gropes your assistance in compiling a list of categories for a Season's End Award Show (SEAS).

In addition to the Categories (let's say five [?]), I also require help in making some sort of methodology in tabulating and acquiring anonymous votes.

Some categories could include:

Best Trade of the Season
Best Trade From Last Year Bearing Luxurious Fruits In This One's
Best WW Pickup
Best Legal Tank
Best Cap Management
Most SH Goals
Most Points From Goalers
Best D For The Dollar

All of these are just ideas. Please add more.

In addition, an All-Time Leaderboard Point Scoring System is something to consider. For example, 1st place = 10 pts; 2nd = 6; 3rd = 2

Lifer also posted on mantrax that his baseball league (???????????????????????????) has an award for "player on the most rosters during a single season." In addition, if a GM drafts that player, they must take a shot during the draft, which I assume would only work during live drafts.

Anyway, I like that Award as well.

Keep them coming. We can finalize a list shortly and then voting can begin at a more laggardly pace.

Best d for dollar will always be Erik Karlsson, especially for his off ice contributions.

Dr Chic deserves the award for player who has Sam Steele.

I think Budaj was on waivers too, which is kinda amazing because he produced the 9th most fantasy points overall this year.

Dunno if any one drafted him in years prior, but i picked him up before the season started with Radim Vrbata. Grabner was a good pick up too.

Sorry Chimay, I'm still trying to sort out the standings after 6 GM's failed to make the minimums. Fantrax doesn't seem to have a way to override missed minimums. So I have to figure it out from Day 1 manually....

Harsher penalties for not making the minimums will be in place next year, because this is BS work. I'll try and finish it off this weekend a start the next season.

I can confirm that the bottom 3 were: 1) Naslundians, 2) Putins, 3) Indrew, based on the ratio.

After that, it's confusing. Maybe someone took a screengrab?

We should just relax the minimums. With the ppg metric in place for the draft it hardly matters anymore.

I think the mins still matter because underplaying goalies is a good way to tank. To a lesser extent, same with overplaying defensemen and underplaying forwards. As a tanker myself, I know all the tricks and it would be a shameless affair if we relaxed mins too much.

I totally get not wanting to lift them for Gs, since yeah, tanking. It's so easy to ice forwards and D's that put up no points and help your tank though. The rule just makes headaches for the commish.

This I understand. I was always pushing Dempsey for more IR slots, but he would never budge. If we up the IR slots would you still be opposed to stiffer penalties for missed minimums?

Also they only spot where I could see a lower minimum is goalie, but I think only a couple missed that min.

The only spot keeping the higher minimum makes sense is goalie.
