The price for Hoffman, maybe. Nobody is going to balk at getting the best D in the game over this.

Would love Hoffman. Zacha+ for Hoffman and sign Tavares for whatever he wants if he's even willing to move here.

I'd just make the transaction conditional on Hoffman pushing his girlfriend into a Sarlacc pit.

Borgotta tweeted their lines out so it must be statewide. I appreciate Christie for getting this off the ground but glad he’s gone because his first bet would have been on Dallas to win the super bowl

excuse me for being ignorant, but you are able to bet online at any of the NJ casinos or Monmouth park? Or is it only an in person type thing for now

I live literally 5 minutes from Parx in PA so whenever they approve it I will probably waste a bunch of money there

And any decent GM would accept a player like that in return for one of the elite players in the league

I don't think he played particularly well this past season, but still

Giving up two firsts would hurt. Shero would have to really think this team could contend enough for them to ride out a few years of terrible prospects. Obviously its for Karlsson but we can't give up the farm without arranging a few other deals to get some picks back. We have nada in the D pipeline. Thank God for guys like Butcher.

I would like if we got Karlsson but we won't get Karlsson, so I'll settle for Carlson. But we won't get Carlson, so I'll fall on acceptance of Lovejoy.

Imagine this dream though, trade Severson, Zacha, McLeod and a first for Karlsson, then sign Carlson and Tavares?

Hall-Tavares-Palmieri
Johansson-Hischier-Bratt
Coleman-Zajac-Noesen
Wood-Boyle-Anderson

Butcher-Carlson
Mueller-Karlsson
Greene-Vatanen

*sigh* it's a beautiful dream. A wholly unrealistic, impossible dream.

Well yeah, I meant from the D side alone. That's crazy how Butcher would be pushed back and he's one of the best on the team on the point. Fuck why can't we have more then a few nice things. I'd still be thrilled if you took Tavares out.

We'll never have anything like that. Ottawa will get a better offer from elsewhere. I'd say Vegas is the best destination. In fact, they could fit all three into their cap quite nicely. Vegas :why:

At first I was really high on Severson but he looks like a deer in headlights out there. He might be another change of scenery guy. He's young but if he's still meh this season, I am not sure you'd be able to get much for him at all.

It's the same GM who traded a first to get Duchene while having to jettison Turris. It would have been an okay deal if they had BOTH guys, but it was a lateral move at best. If anyone can fleece him, it's Rejean Shero.

I still think Muzzin is a guy we should target

I know he is 29 and UFA in a year, but LA is in a serious cap crunch and probably won't be able to pay him

if we could get him and Carlson its essentially like we added a top pairing on D

plus Shero drafted him in Pittsburgh

Canes are apparently revealing their new thirds on the night of the draft (maybe handing it to their pick?)

We’re on that leaked list of teams getting one for this season, correct?

Getting this close to free agency and not seeing what is out there would be incredibly stupid. I have a hard time believing that his agents wouldn't be strenuously advising him not to do that.

Ability to sign with 8 years with the Isles expires when he hits UFA. I'm sure there are a lot of whispering happening during the interview period but there's still risk on Tavares part.

An 8 year deal doesn’t make sense for someone his age IMO. He’s better off signing a deal that takes him to age 32 or so and then end his career with a large 7 year contract.

That’s if he’s willing to bet on himself though. Injury or a talent drop off and he costs himself some cash.
