Dee See

Post #1 by chicpea » Wed Jul 25, 2018 9:01 pm

My best bud has woefully accepted a very good offer in Washington which starts late this summer. He is packing up his research/analysis position to move there from here, which is Vancouver (The Second).

Today he texted to tell me his little girl's new elementary school has an armed guard. What in the fuck. Is this normal?

Is there anything else he should know about the city? I heard it has a superb resto scene. And I love what used to be of the music there.

it's ridiculously expensive, traffic is a disaster, the transit system is a mess, and the people all jerk off to politics.

The only defense for a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

DC is pretty dangerous. I would live in a less inclusive neighborhood.

DC can mean "District of Columbia" or "direct current".

Tell your friend that he is free to use that as a conversation starter at dinner parties.

It’s the only consistently trendy hood but not THE hood at the moment. Within two blocks there are at a minimum seven Korean restaurants - two arguably being the best in town. Also, two beaches, and a park you may have heard of. Bike street. Locals only cars. Hot chicks, hot sex all year round. Also, hot guys, hot sex 24 hours a day. There’s also a military base here in case we get attacked by Japan again. Zach Galifinakis stayed in my building a few years ago. No air con. Shared laundry :[

We call it Cambodian Tire for a reason. :smuglanne:
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.
