Video Games for Eight-Year-Old Nephew

Post #1 by chicpea » Thu Dec 13, 2018 9:06 pm

Hi all,

Not being an x-box person, I'd like your help in choosing which games to buy for my nephew for Christmas.

I thought about fort nite, but it looks a bit too violent. He already has NHL of course. Thoughts are appreciated.

I've never played it - because I only have a playstation - but I heard Cuphead is great. And I would love to play it myself some day.

Unless your nephew's parents are hardcore Christians they should be fine with it.

Overcooked is another one to consider. I played it at a friend's house and it is good, clean fun for kids.

I don't recommend Fortnite.

I did not. It seemed too violent to me. I bought some lego game I think. He only likes lego and hockey. Already has hockey. I suggested buying a second version of the same game in case on game got deleted but my brother cautioned me against this. It's his child and his house. So I play by his rules. My child would've gotten the back-up game.

This is good ... the BR version of Fortnite (which is what made the game go supernova) is free. I am surprised at the age of some of the kids playing it. A good friend's son that is that age is a regular player apparently, for example.
